The rule
A local fact needs a source we can link to. A city page is not published without a sourced answer for city pickup, at least one sourced disposal option, sourced permit guidance, and three sourced local notes.
How the checks work
- When a city is researched, each fact is recorded with a quote from the page it came from.
- Before the city page goes live, we fetch each cited page again and check that the quoted text still appears on it.
- After launch, we periodically recheck every cited source and flag pages that have broken, moved, changed, or no longer show a company’s advertised price.
Some sites block automated checks. Those sources are confirmed by hand.
How fresh it is
Every city page shows the date its sources were last reviewed. If a city’s research, or a listed company, has not been rechecked within 90 days, the page is hidden from search engines and dropped from the sitemap until it is reviewed again.
When sources disagree
We say so on the page, link both, and tell you who to call to settle it, rather than picking the answer that is more convenient.
