SHED REMOVAL IN SOUTHAVEN

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Southaven shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Southaven requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your Southaven ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

02

Get our price.

We look at your photos and send our price, what it includes and the dates we have.

03

We haul it away.

We confirm a date, take the shed down, load every piece and leave the spot clean.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Southaven asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Southaven rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Not confirmed for small sheds. Southaven's residential demolition permit costs $375 per structure and includes removing the slab and disconnecting utilities. Ask the Building Department at 662-393-4639.

City pickup

Only small amounts. Southaven's guidelines let minor renovation debris go to the curb, but larger jobs need a dumpster or self-removal, and a contractor must haul off building debris.

Haul it yourself

DeSoto County Rubbish Pit (Sandidge Road). Each DeSoto County resident gets up to four free visits a month; the charge after that isn't published.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for a shed in DeSoto County. MidSouth Removal prices after an on-site look; JunkBusters Mid-South and The Junk Llamas give free quotes.

Do I need a permit?Southaven demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

A demolition permit covers the slab and utilities too

Southaven's demolition permit costs $375 per structure for residential work. The application says demolition must be finished within 30 days of the permit, debris must be removed from the property, and demolishing a structure includes removing the foundation or slab and properly disconnecting utilities. The site must be returned to an undeveloped state with vegetation to limit erosion. The City doesn't say whether a small shed needs this permit.

02

Building debris goes to an approved dump

Southaven code makes the contractor responsible for removing scrap lumber, roofing, concrete and other demolition debris to an approved dump. Contractors on a demolition site must keep loose debris in an enclosed container or area and containerize it by the end of each day.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will Southaven pick up shed debris?

Only a small amount. Southaven's sanitation guidelines say minor renovation debris may go to the curb, and an extra truck on every route picks up boxes, limbs, appliances and miscellaneous debris. For larger renovations, a construction dumpster or self-removal is required. Concrete, bricks and dirt can't go in the cart, and City code makes contractors haul their own building debris. Since June 2023 the City also won't collect trees and similar items cut or removed by a contractor.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

What else should I know in Southaven?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

Hauling rule: City garbage is exclusive, but building debris is the contractor's job

Southaven's code makes it unlawful for anyone but the City to run a business collecting garbage and rubbish in the city, except private collectors authorized for nonresidential collection. Rubbish is defined to leave out building material. Building debris such as scrap lumber, roofing and concrete from construction, repair or demolition is the contractor's to remove to an approved dump, and the owner's if the contractor doesn't. A separate section bans the business of scavenging garbage or refuse; the code doesn't say how it treats a removal crew hauling its own teardown debris.

Most home demolition is outside the state asbestos rules

Mississippi DEQ says demolition tied to individual homes, including residential buildings with four or fewer units, is generally exempt from its asbestos rules. The exemption doesn't apply when the work is part of a larger development project, and burning a residential structure that has asbestos is banned.

County rubbish pits take renovation debris

DeSoto County runs a rubbish pit on Sandidge Road in Olive Branch, and a privately operated one on Starlanding Road in Lake Cormorant, for non-household trash. Both list renovation debris, furniture and limbs, and county residents get four free visits a month. Southaven's own sanitation guidelines send electronics to the Sandidge pit.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.
