SHED REMOVAL IN CONWAY

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Conway shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Conway requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Conway asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Conway rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Plan on one. Conway's code sets a residential demolition permit fee of $1 per $1,000 of job cost, $50 minimum. The 50-square-foot exemption is for building a shed. Ask 501-450-6107.

City pickup

No. Conway's green carts can't take construction debris such as wood, and bulky pickup refuses lumber. The city landfill does take construction debris, by the ton.

Haul it yourself

Conway Sanitation Landfill (City of Conway). City code: construction debris $30 a ton with a one-ton minimum for waste from inside the city limits, $60 a ton ($60 minimum) from outside. The landfill page lists a $30-plus-tax base rate for business loads up to 1,999 lbs. Unsecured loads pay $5. Cash, check, Visa and MasterCard.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for a shed in Faulkner County. College HUNKS's $99 to $699 range is general truckload pricing. The other companies quote each shed.

Do I need a permit?Conway demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

The demolition permit

Conway adopts its building code for the construction, alteration, removal and demolition of buildings and structures, and its permit fee table lists residential demolitions at $1 per $1,000 of total job cost with a $50 minimum. Starting work before the permit is issued doubles the fee. Apply through the city's Civic Access Portal or at City Hall, 1111 Main St.; Permits & Inspections is at 501-450-6107.

02

The 50-square-foot rule is for building

Conway's accessory building guide says a building permit is required for accessory structures over 50 square feet that are built on site or moved onto it. That rule covers putting a shed up. Nothing we found says a small shed can come down without the demolition permit, so ask Permits & Inspections first.

03

Wiring, plumbing and gas

Conway requires separate permits for electrical, plumbing, gas and mechanical work, done by a state-licensed tradesman. If the shed has a circuit, water line or gas line, have it disconnected and capped under the right trade permit before teardown. Contact Arkansas 811 before digging out posts or footings; utilities locate within two full working days.

04

Asbestos

Arkansas DEQ requires asbestos inspections before demolition of most structures, excluding certain residential structures, and says all demolitions it regulates need a Notice of Intent. Its page doesn't say whether a backyard shed at a house is excluded; call the Asbestos Section at 501-682-0721 if the shed has old cement-board siding or roofing.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will Conway pick up shed debris?

No. Conway's green-cart service lists construction debris, including wood and drywall, among items not collected. Bulky pickup is by appointment, three items twice a year, and lists bricks and lumber as not accepted; the city code bars construction and demolition debris from bulky pickup. You can haul it to the city landfill or lease a city roll-off. Sanitation: 501-450-6155.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

Conway Sanitation Landfill (City of Conway)

4550 US-64 W, Conway, AR 72034

City-run Class 1 landfill. The city's code sets a separate rate for construction debris. City trash customers can bring household garbage at no extra charge with their utility bill and ID; Faulkner County residents from outside the city can use it for an added charge. Liquids are not accepted.

Fees: City code: construction debris $30 a ton with a one-ton minimum for waste from inside the city limits, $60 a ton ($60 minimum) from outside. The landfill page lists a $30-plus-tax base rate for business loads up to 1,999 lbs. Unsecured loads pay $5. Cash, check, Visa and MasterCard.

Before you go: Open Monday to Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Friday to 3 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. Call Sanitation at 501-450-6155 before you go to confirm the rate for shed debris; bring a utility bill and photo ID.

JSI Metal Recycling

1605 East Oak Street, Conway, AR 72032

Family-run scrap metal yard with a public drive-through. It lists vehicles, appliances, cast iron, radiators, copper and aluminum, and pays for scrap. It doesn't name steel shed panels, so ask.

Fees: No fee is listed; it buys scrap metal.

Before you go: Open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call 501-327-3856 to confirm it takes a dismantled metal shed.

Central Arkansas Recycling and Disposal Services (CARDS)

9611 Ironton Rd., Little Rock, AR 72206

Construction and demolition recycling center opened with Pulaski County. The county's recycling district lists it as accepting lumber, concrete, brick, shingles, cardboard and hard plastics.

Fees: Not published.

Little Rock Landfill (City of Little Rock)

10801 Ironton Cutoff, Little Rock, AR

City-run landfill that takes garbage, yard waste, and construction and demolition debris for a fee. Haulers in the business need a Pulaski County district hauler license to use it. No tires.

Fees: Class 1 and Class 4 waste: $57 a ton plus taxes and a $3.10 surcharge, with a $41 minimum per load. The code raises the rate to $59 a ton on Jan. 1, 2027. Asbestos is $160 a ton, $102 minimum.

Before you go: Open Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on selected Saturdays. Call the scale house at (501) 888-5806 for disposal fees.

What else should I know in Conway?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

Hauling rules: no city franchise found, but haulers need a county district license

Conway's code creates a city Sanitation Department to collect, haul and dispose of garbage in the city limits, and lets the council contract with private haulers, but we found no franchise or city hauler license for construction debris. The Faulkner County Solid Waste Management District's rules say no one may run a business that collects or hauls solid waste in the district without its hauler's license. Its Type II license covers haulers of Class IV waste, the class that includes demolition debris. Whether a shed removal crew hauling its own teardown debris needs this license isn't spelled out; ask the district.

Historic districts get extra review

Conway's accessory building guide says new accessory buildings of 160 square feet or more in the Old Conway Historic District need Old Conway Design Review Board approval, and those in the Asa Robinson Historic District need the Asa P. Robinson Historic District Commission. The guide covers building, not tearing down; call Planning at 501-450-6105 before removing an older shed in either district.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few more answers.

How much does shed removal cost in Conway?

Shed Gone prices each shed from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included. Among other companies here, LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for a shed in Faulkner County, lower if it's already taken apart. College HUNKS's example range of $99 to $699 is based on truckload size, not a shed job. Junk Away Arkansas, Big Rock, Clean Property Pros and Rayco give free or on-site estimates.

What does the city landfill charge for shed debris?

The city code sets construction debris at $30 a ton with a one-ton minimum for waste from inside the city, and $60 a ton for waste from outside it. The landfill page adds that city residents bring household garbage free, while business loads pay a $30 base rate up to 1,999 pounds. It doesn't say which rate a homeowner's shed lumber falls under, so call 501-450-6155 first.

Will every crew take the shingles?

No. Junk Away Arkansas says it hauls shed lumber, flooring and hardware but cannot accept roofing materials or shingles. Big Rock says it sorts lumber, metal and roofing material. Ask about the roof before you book.

Where can a metal shed go?

JSI Metal Recycling at 1605 E. Oak St. buys scrap metal at a drive-through yard, open weekdays 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Its list names aluminum, appliances and cast iron but not shed panels by name, so call 501-327-3856.

Who removes the slab or floor?

Big Rock says it will remove the shed floor or base if you ask, and Clean Property Pros says it can break up and haul the concrete under a structure. The others don't say. Junk Away Arkansas says it hauls flooring.

Is there a place to recycle the lumber instead?

CARDS, a construction and demolition recycling center at 9611 Ironton Rd. in Little Rock, is listed by the Pulaski County recycling district as taking lumber, concrete, brick and shingles. It doesn't post rates; call (501) 500-8350 first.
