SHED REMOVAL IN LITTLE ROCK

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Little Rock shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Little Rock requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Little Rock asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Little Rock rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Not confirmed for small sheds. Little Rock charges $0.10 a square foot ($51.50 minimum) to demolish a structure; its 200 sq ft shed exemption isn't written for demolition. Call 501-371-4832.

City pickup

No. Bulky item pickup turns away construction and demolition debris, and city code says the City won't collect it. A City construction debris dumpster costs $327 a pull.

Haul it yourself

Little Rock Landfill (City of Little Rock). Class 1 and Class 4 waste: $57 a ton plus taxes and a $3.10 surcharge, with a $41 minimum per load. The code raises the rate to $59 a ton on Jan. 1, 2027. Asbestos is $160 a ton, $102 minimum.

4 drop-off options →

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for a shed in Pulaski County. Rhino Junk Removers' truck loads start at $100, Big Rock Junk Removal's minimum is $125, and the others quote each shed.

Do I need a permit?Little Rock demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

Demolition fee is set; a small-shed exemption isn't

Little Rock Code §8-31 sets the fee for demolishing a structure at 10 cents a square foot of floor area, $51.50 minimum, and the permit runs a year. The same section requires permits for work over $5,000 or that needs an inspection, but excludes one-story detached tool and storage sheds up to 200 square feet. That exclusion sits in the general permit rule; the code doesn't say whether it covers tearing a small shed down. Every permit also carries a $25.75 data processing fee. Ask the Permit Desk at 501-371-4832.

02

Bond, business license and sewer seal

The City's demolition checklist asks for a building permit application, a City business license, a $10,000 surety bond made out to the City, and a sewer seal from Little Rock's wastewater utility before the permit is issued. City code requires the $10,000 bond from every demolition contractor that needs a permit. A state contractor's license is needed only for projects over $50,000.

03

Debris is the owner's to remove, in a covered load

City code says construction and demolition waste from building, remodeling or repair won't be collected by the City and is the responsible party's to remove and dispose of. Anyone hauling waste on city streets for a business must keep it from falling, blowing or spilling, covered or in an enclosed vehicle.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will Little Rock pick up shed debris?

No. Little Rock's bulky item pickup lists construction and demolition debris among restricted items, and city code says such waste won't be collected by the City. The Solid Waste page says remodeling waste isn't covered by the monthly fee; your options are your contractor, the landfill, or a special City pickup for an extra charge. A 20-yard construction debris dumpster costs $327 a pull and stays three days; call 311 to book one.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

Little Rock Landfill (City of Little Rock)

10801 Ironton Cutoff, Little Rock, AR

City-run landfill that takes garbage, yard waste, and construction and demolition debris for a fee. Haulers in the business need a Pulaski County district hauler license to use it. No tires.

Before you go: Open Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on selected Saturdays. Call the scale house at (501) 888-5806 for disposal fees.

Two Pine Landfill (WM)

100 Two Pine Drive, North Little Rock, AR 72117

Sol Alman (scrap metal)

1300 East 9th Street, Little Rock, AR

Downtown scrap metal business that the city recycling page lists for scrap metal from individuals and businesses. Metal shed panels and framing are scrap metal; it doesn't list sheds by name.

What else should I know in Little Rock?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

Haulers need a Pulaski County district license

Little Rock has no franchised hauler for demolition debris. Its code says all solid waste haulers must be licensed under state law, and bars anyone in the hauling business from the city landfill until the Pulaski County Regional Solid Waste Management District issues a hauler's license and the annual permit is on the driver's door. The district's Regulation 4 requires a license for anyone in the business of collecting or transporting solid waste in the county, at $50 a vehicle under 5 cubic yards and $100 for larger ones. A homeowner hauling his own non-commercial waste isn't a hauler under the rule.

MacArthur Park and Capitol Zoning need approval first

The City's demolition checklist says a property in the MacArthur Park Historic District or the Capitol Zoning District needs written approval from the Little Rock Historic District Commission or the Capitol Zoning District Commission, and Planning staff screen every demolition permit for historic significance. MacArthur Park's guidelines say tearing down a garage or shed may be appropriate if it has substantially deteriorated. A Certificate of Appropriateness costs $100 to file unless staff can approve it without a hearing. Call Planning at (501) 371-4790.

Asbestos rules mostly spare home sheds

Arkansas DEQ requires an asbestos inspection by a state-certified inspector before most buildings are demolished, but excludes certain residential structures. Its FAQ says demolishing homes with four or fewer units is mostly exempt, unless the job is part of a commercial or other larger project, the building was used for business, or it stores farm supplies. Little Rock's checklist asks for an asbestos survey only for commercial buildings. If you suspect old siding or shingles, the city landfill charges $160 a ton for asbestos waste.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.
