SHED REMOVAL IN O'FALLON

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your O'Fallon shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what O'Fallon requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your O'Fallon ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

02

Get our price.

We look at your photos and send our price, what it includes and the dates we have.

03

We haul it away.

We confirm a date, take the shed down, load every piece and leave the spot clean.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what O'Fallon asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

O'Fallon rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Yes. O'Fallon's Building Division lists demolition among projects that need a permit, and City code sets a $100 minimum demolition permit fee. Your fire district may want its own permit.

City pickup

Not confirmed for shed debris. Curbside bulk pickup costs $20 per 6 x 3 x 3-foot hopper load, with items up to 60 pounds; the City doesn't say whether lumber or roofing qualifies.

Haul it yourself

Recycle City walk-in trash disposal (City of St. Peters). General public: $125 minimum for up to 2,000 pounds, then $0.06 a pound, plus a $3.20-a-ton landfill tax. Residents of the host city with a Resident Privilege Card pay a $40 minimum for up to 800 pounds, up to 3 tons a year.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for a shed in St. Charles County. College HUNKS shows general junk loads at $99 to $699; the others quote each shed.

Do I need a permit?O'Fallon demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

A demolition permit comes first

The Building Division lists demolition with dumpsters under projects that need a permit; call 636-379-5660. The fee schedule puts demolition in the $100 minimum-fee group. Building a new shed needs its own permit too: O'Fallon's residential code exempts only sheds under 3 feet deep and under 25 square feet, and the City sets a $50 minimum shed permit fee.

03

Landmarks need Historic Preservation Commission approval

If your property is a designated O'Fallon landmark, City code bars any demolition of it, or a portion of it, without a certificate of appropriateness from the Historic Preservation Commission, and no demolition permit is issued until then. The Commission decides within 45 days. Most backyard sheds are not on designated landmark property; the Building Division can check.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will O'Fallon pick up shed debris?

Not confirmed. The City's curbside bulk pickup takes items that won't fit in your cart for $20 per hopper load (6 feet long, 3 feet wide, 3 feet high), each piece no heavier than 60 pounds, booked with the Pick-up Request Form. The City doesn't say whether shed lumber, siding or shingles count. For a full shed, a City roll-off or a removal company is the practical route.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

Recycle City walk-in trash disposal (City of St. Peters)

131 Ecology Drive, St. Peters, MO 63376

City-run walk-in trash disposal that is open to the general public. Fees are based on the volume and type of trash. It does not take tires, yard waste, paint, engine oil or other flammable liquids, asbestos, sealed drums, gas bottles or hazardous materials, and loads with prohibited or falsely identified items draw a $250 fee. The page doesn't list lumber or construction debris either way, so call ahead with a shed load.

Fees: General public: $125 minimum for up to 2,000 pounds, then $0.06 a pound, plus a $3.20-a-ton landfill tax. Residents of the host city with a Resident Privilege Card pay a $40 minimum for up to 800 pounds, up to 3 tons a year.

Before you go: Check in at the scale house. Open Monday to Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; hand unloaders must arrive 30 minutes before closing. MasterCard, Visa or Discover only, and vehicles need valid plates, including a front plate. Solid Waste Services: 636-970-1456.

Champ Landfill (Waste Connections)

2280 Maryland Heights Expy, Maryland Heights, MO 63043

Permitted landfill for household, demolition and special waste that says it serves the whole region. It lists construction debris, concrete and asphalt, and clean fill among accepted waste. It does not take major appliances, whole tires, propane tanks, hazardous waste or yard waste.

Fees: The rate sheet lists construction and demolition as "$329.90 per ton/minimum", plus a $2.11 state fee and a $3.06 county fee ($335.07 total; rates effective January 1, 2026). It does not say whether that is a per-ton rate, a minimum charge or both, so call before you go. Non-friable asbestos is priced separately.

Before you go: Open Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 7 to 11 a.m. Hard hats and safety vests are required and sell for $15 a set at the scale house. Call 314-291-0887.

Recycle Works - Central (St. Charles County)

60 Triad South Drive, St. Charles, MO 63304

County recycling center. It takes scrap metal from St. Charles County residents and all types of aluminum, so a metal shed cut into pieces can go here. Large hard plastic items such as play houses are accepted if cut into smaller pieces, but not vinyl siding or fencing. It does not take trash, wood, asbestos, carpet, tires or business waste.

Fees: No charge is listed for scrap metal; fees apply to appliances and electronics.

Before you go: Open Monday to Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; closed County holidays. Cash or check only. Questions: 636-949-7900, ext. 4273.

What else should I know in O'Fallon?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

Haulers need an O'Fallon solid waste permit

O'Fallon has no franchise hauler for demolition debris. The City collects household trash itself, and every single-family and two-family home must use City service. City code makes it unlawful to run a business collecting or hauling solid waste in O'Fallon without a City permit. Haulers other than the City may collect bulky rubbish and demolition and construction waste only during set hours, such as 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from October through May. The code doesn't exempt removal companies, and the City publishes no list of permit holders, so ask any crew whether it has one.

Your fire district may want a permit too

O'Fallon is served by six independent fire districts, including the O'Fallon, Cottleville, Wentzville and Lake Saint Louis districts and Central County Fire & Rescue. The City says they are separate governments and may require their own building permit. Check with your district as well as the City's Building Division.

City roll-offs for a do-it-yourself teardown

City trash customers can rent a roll-off for seven days: $320 for 10 yards, $335 for 20 yards and $355 for 30 yards, including delivery, pickup and up to 4 tons. The City pitches the 30-yard box for light demolition, and offers a 10-yard box just for dirt, rock and concrete. Tires, appliances, liquids, car batteries and hazardous waste are not allowed. Call Environmental Services at 636-272-0477.

Free bulk drop-off days for City trash customers

Six Saturdays a year, City trash customers can bring large items free to the City's waste transfer station at 1572 Progress West Lane, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The last 2026 dates are October 17 and December 19. Bring a photo ID with your O'Fallon address; one car, pickup or trailer up to 10 feet per address, and you unload it yourself. The accepted list names furniture, carpet and swing sets but not lumber or roofing, so call 636-272-0477 before bringing shed pieces.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

Shed Gone

Priced from your photos

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few more answers.

How much does shed removal cost in O'Fallon?

Shed Gone prices each shed from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included. Among other companies, LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for a shed in St. Charles County, lower if it's already taken apart. College HUNKS lists general junk loads at $99 to $699, and MrJunk, Slam Dunkin' Junk, JUNKWISELY and Give & Go quote each job. Add the City demolition permit, which starts at $100.

Where can I take shed debris myself?

St. Peters' Recycle City on Ecology Drive takes walk-in trash from the general public, with a $125 minimum for up to 2,000 pounds. Champ Landfill in Maryland Heights lists construction debris and concrete among accepted waste. Metal panels can go to St. Charles County's Recycle Works Central, which takes scrap metal from county residents.

What about the concrete pad?

O'Fallon rents a 10-yard roll-off just for dirt, rock and concrete to City trash customers. Champ Landfill also lists concrete and asphalt among accepted waste. MrJunk says a shed built into a concrete foundation that needs excavation is beyond its scope, so ask any crew up front whether slab removal is included.

Do I need to call 811 before pulling posts or anchors?

Yes, if you'll dig out posts, piers or footings. 811 says to contact it a few business days before any digging so buried utility lines can be marked with paint or flags.

Could old shingles contain asbestos?

They can. Missouri DNR says older roofing shingles and felts may contain asbestos. Its demolition rules exempt a single residential structure with four or fewer dwelling units, and it says most single-family homes are exempt. If you're unsure about an old roof, ask DNR's Air Pollution Control Program before tearing it off.

Will the crew take the shed down or just haul it?

Slam Dunkin' Junk, JUNKWISELY, MrJunk and Give & Go all describe tearing sheds down. College HUNKS lists storage sheds among items it hauls but doesn't describe a teardown, so ask before booking.
