SHED REMOVAL IN ST. PETERS

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your St. Peters shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what St. Peters requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your St. Peters ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

02

Get our price.

We look at your photos and send our price, what it includes and the dates we have.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what St. Peters asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

St. Peters rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Not published. St. Peters posts no demolition-permit rule for sheds; its code exempts building a shed of 120 square feet or less. Ask Building Safety, 636-477-6600 ext. 1670, before tearing one down.

City pickup

Not for a whole shed. Curbside trash bars construction and demolition debris; free bulky pickup takes up to 3 cubic yards twice a year, but no concrete or anything over 8 feet long.

Haul it yourself

Recycle City walk-in trash disposal (City of St. Peters). General public: $125 minimum for up to 2,000 pounds, then $0.06 a pound, plus a $3.20-a-ton landfill tax. Residents of the host city with a Resident Privilege Card pay a $40 minimum for up to 800 pounds, up to 3 tons a year.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for a shed in St. Charles County. College HUNKS shows general junk loads at $99 to $699; the others quote each shed.

Do I need a permit?St. Peters demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

The 120-square-foot exemption is for building, not removal

St. Peters' residential code says one-story detached tool and storage sheds up to 120 square feet don't need a permit. That exemption is written for building work; the City publishes no rule on demolishing a shed and no demolition permit page. Its permit page says permits are required for new construction, additions, remodels and repairs to electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems. Ask Building Safety before you start.

03

Call 811 before pulling posts or footings

If you'll dig out posts, piers or footings, 811 says to contact it a few business days before any digging so buried lines can be marked with paint or flags.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will St. Peters pick up shed debris?

Not as a whole shed. The City's curbside trash page says not to put construction or demolition debris in your cart. Free bulky pickup, booked on the STP Collects app or at 636-970-1456, lets each home schedule up to two dates a year, with up to 3 cubic yards each, about a pickup bed. It takes items such as doors and disassembled swing sets, but not concrete, commercial waste or anything longer than 8 feet, and nothing placed under utility lines.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

Recycle City walk-in trash disposal (City of St. Peters)

131 Ecology Drive, St. Peters, MO 63376

City-run walk-in trash disposal that is open to the general public. Fees are based on the volume and type of trash. It does not take tires, yard waste, paint, engine oil or other flammable liquids, asbestos, sealed drums, gas bottles or hazardous materials, and loads with prohibited or falsely identified items draw a $250 fee. The page doesn't list lumber or construction debris either way, so call ahead with a shed load.

Fees: General public: $125 minimum for up to 2,000 pounds, then $0.06 a pound, plus a $3.20-a-ton landfill tax. Residents of the host city with a Resident Privilege Card pay a $40 minimum for up to 800 pounds, up to 3 tons a year.

Before you go: Check in at the scale house. Open Monday to Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; hand unloaders must arrive 30 minutes before closing. MasterCard, Visa or Discover only, and vehicles need valid plates, including a front plate. Solid Waste Services: 636-970-1456.

Champ Landfill (Waste Connections)

2280 Maryland Heights Expy, Maryland Heights, MO 63043

Permitted landfill for household, demolition and special waste that says it serves the whole region. It lists construction debris, concrete and asphalt, and clean fill among accepted waste. It does not take major appliances, whole tires, propane tanks, hazardous waste or yard waste.

Fees: The rate sheet lists construction and demolition as "$329.90 per ton/minimum", plus a $2.11 state fee and a $3.06 county fee ($335.07 total; rates effective January 1, 2026). It does not say whether that is a per-ton rate, a minimum charge or both, so call before you go. Non-friable asbestos is priced separately.

Before you go: Open Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 7 to 11 a.m. Hard hats and safety vests are required and sell for $15 a set at the scale house. Call 314-291-0887.

Recycle Works - Central (St. Charles County)

60 Triad South Drive, St. Charles, MO 63304

County recycling center. It takes scrap metal from St. Charles County residents and all types of aluminum, so a metal shed cut into pieces can go here. Large hard plastic items such as play houses are accepted if cut into smaller pieces, but not vinyl siding or fencing. It does not take trash, wood, asbestos, carpet, tires or business waste.

Fees: No charge is listed for scrap metal; fees apply to appliances and electronics.

Before you go: Open Monday to Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; closed County holidays. Cash or check only. Questions: 636-949-7900, ext. 4273.

What else should I know in St. Peters?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

No hauler permit for demolition waste, but other junk needs one

St. Peters runs its own trash service, and every home must use it. City code says no one but the City may run a business collecting or hauling solid waste here without an annual City permit. The same chapter says a permit is not required to haul demolition waste, defined as waste from tearing down structures, including wood and concrete, as long as it rides in a covered, tight load. So shed debris can go with any crew, but the junk stored inside a shed may fall under the permit. The City publishes no list of permit holders.

Recycle City is in town, and residents pay less

The City's walk-in trash disposal at Recycle City, 131 Ecology Drive, charges the general public a $125 minimum for up to 2,000 pounds. St. Peters residents who show a Resident Privilege Card pay a $40 minimum for up to 800 pounds, up to 3 tons a year, and the cardholder must be there. The photo card is free at City Hall, the Rec-Plex or Recycle City.

City roll-offs for a do-it-yourself teardown

Residents can rent a City roll-off for seven days for $375, including delivery, pickup and up to four tons; 20-, 30- and 40-yard boxes are available. Concrete, dirt or stone can fill no more than a third of the box. Tires, paint, oil, asbestos, sealed drums and gas bottles are not allowed, and yard waste needs its own container. Call 636-970-1456.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

Shed Gone

Priced from your photos

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few more answers.

How much does shed removal cost in St. Peters?

Shed Gone prices each shed from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included. Among other companies, LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for a shed in St. Charles County, lower if it's already taken apart. College HUNKS lists general junk loads at $99 to $699, and Give & Go, MrJunk, Slam Dunkin' Junk and JUNKWISELY quote each job.

Where else can I take shed debris?

Champ Landfill in Maryland Heights lists construction debris and concrete among accepted waste. Metal sheds cut into pieces can go to St. Charles County's Recycle Works Central on Triad South Drive, which takes scrap metal from county residents.

What about the concrete pad?

Bulky pickup won't take concrete. A City roll-off can, if concrete, dirt or stone fills no more than a third of it. Champ Landfill lists concrete and asphalt among accepted waste. MrJunk says a shed built into a concrete foundation that needs excavation is beyond its scope, so ask any crew up front.

Could old shingles contain asbestos?

They can. Missouri DNR says older roofing shingles and felts may contain asbestos. Its demolition rules exempt a single residential structure with four or fewer dwelling units, and it says most single-family homes are exempt. Asbestos is banned at Recycle City and in City roll-offs.

Will the crew take the shed down or just haul it?

Give & Go, MrJunk, Slam Dunkin' Junk and JUNKWISELY all describe tearing sheds down. College HUNKS lists storage sheds among items it hauls but doesn't describe a teardown, so ask before booking.
