SHED REMOVAL IN WEST SENECA

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your West Seneca shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what West Seneca requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your West Seneca ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what West Seneca asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

West Seneca rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Yes. Town Code requires a permit before demolishing any building or structure, and no shed exemption was found. The demolition fee is $50 for work costing up to $1,000.

City pickup

Only for do-it-yourself debris, in a tote or bagged, boxed or bundled under 50 pounds. The Town won't collect contractor debris, concrete, stone or brick.

Haul it yourself

Casella Buffalo C&D Transfer (Union Transfer). Not published online. Casella says fees are posted at the scale house and its customer care team can provide them.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for a shed in Erie County. Rapid Junk Removal, K & H and Junk Job all offer free estimates.

Do I need a permit?West Seneca demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

A demolition permit for every shed

Town Code §55-5(A) says no one may start the removal or demolition of any building or structure without a permit from the Code Enforcement Official, and no shed exemption appears in the chapter. The Code Enforcement page adds that before any building is demolished, in part or whole, the applicant must apply for a demolition permit, and some cases need a professional engineer. The Town's fee schedule, revised March 31, 2026, charges $50 for demolition work up to $1,000, $70 from $1,000 to $5,000, and $8 for each $1,000 over $5,000. Work started before applying doubles the fee. Code Enforcement: Town Hall, 1250 Union Road, Room 210, 716-558-3242.

02

Asbestos survey

New York's Industrial Code Rule 56 has the owner get an asbestos survey by a certified state inspector before demolishing a building or structure, with a copy to the office that issues the demolition permit. The Department of Labor says surveys are required for all demolitions regardless of construction date. Older sheds can have asbestos siding or roofing.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will West Seneca pick up shed debris?

Only if you take the shed down yourself. Town Code §101-4(I) lets construction debris from an owner's or occupant's own work go in a tote, and the Sanitation page says extra project debris that won't fit may be bagged, boxed or bundled up to 50 pounds, with all nails bent over or removed. Red lid totes for small do-it-yourself projects are available on request for up to two weeks. The Town won't collect any debris from contractors; the page says lumber and material from building demolition can't be handled by its staff and equipment. Concrete, stone and brick are never picked up at the curb. Large items go out on garbage day with no call needed. Questions: Highway Department, 716-674-4850.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

Casella Buffalo C&D Transfer (Union Transfer)

1700 Union Rd, West Seneca, NY 14224

Casella's construction and demolition debris transfer station. Erie County lists it as a drop-off for building materials that charges by the ton and takes no hazardous waste.

Fees: Not published online. Casella says fees are posted at the scale house and its customer care team can provide them.

Before you go: Open Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and closed on major holidays. Call (716) 674-4325 before you go.

Ebenezer Yard Materials

1655 Union Road, West Seneca, NY 14224

Recycles clean concrete and stone, according to the town sanitation page that refers residents here. No dirt or red brick. It fits a broken-up shed slab or pavers, not wood or shingles.

Fees: Not published; the town page says a charge may apply.

Before you go: Call 716-364-6972 before hauling. Check in at the office at the white scale house at the rear of the complex.

Niagara Metals (Cheektowaga yard)

3035 Union Rd, Cheektowaga, NY 14227

Scrap metal yard that buys steel, sheet iron, tin, aluminum and other metals. The company's roofing and siding page names aluminum roofing sheets and galvanized steel panels, so it suits a cut-up metal shed, not wood or shingles.

Fees: No drop-off fee; it pays for scrap at prices that change with the market.

Before you go: Open Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Drive to the back of the building and weigh in on the scale; weigh each type of metal separately. Valid ID is required. Call (716) 685-6789.

East Side Transfer Station

793 South Ogden St., Buffalo, NY 14206

Transfer station run by Waste Management on behalf of the city that owns it. Erie County's recycling directory lists it as a drop-off for building materials, charged per ton. It refuses batteries, refrigerators, air conditioners, paint, oils, propane tanks, yard waste and tires.

Fees: Owner-occupied city parcels get up to 1 ton free per calendar year with a driver's license and a utility bill. Everyone else pays Waste Management's per-ton gate rate, which isn't published. Credit cards only.

Before you go: Residential drop-off is Monday to Friday 7 to 9 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m., and Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. Call 716-823-0795 to ask about shed lumber and the gate rate.

What else should I know in West Seneca?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

Waste collectors need a Town license

West Seneca has no franchise hauler for demolition debris, but Town Code §101-10 says all authorized collectors must get a solid waste collecting license from the Town and display a collector sticker on each truck. The annual fee is $100 for the firm plus $50 per truck. The code defines a private collector as anyone collecting municipal solid waste or recyclables, and says one must hold a Town license to operate in West Seneca. It doesn't say whether a removal crew hauling its own shed debris counts.

No more extra-trash drop-off at the Highway Department

The Sanitation page says excess trash drop-off at the Highway Department is suspended. The Highway Department at 100 Gemcor Drive still takes tires and propane tanks for a fee, and electronics free from town residents with proof of residency.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

Shed Gone

Priced from your photos

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few more answers.

How much does shed removal cost in West Seneca?

Shed Gone prices each shed from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included. Among other companies, LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for a shed in Erie County, lower if it's already taken apart. Rapid Junk Removal gives a free estimate covering removal, cleanup and disposal, and K & H and Junk Job also offer free estimates. A Town demolition permit adds $50 for work up to $1,000.

Where can I take shed debris myself?

Casella's Union Transfer at 1700 Union Road is a construction and demolition debris drop-off in town that charges by the ton. It's open weekdays 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and its fees are posted at the scale house rather than online. Buffalo's East Side Transfer Station also takes non-city residents at Waste Management's per-ton gate rate.

Can a metal shed go to a scrap yard?

Yes. Niagara Metals' yard at 3035 Union Road in Cheektowaga buys steel, sheet iron, tin and aluminum, and its roofing and siding page names galvanized steel panels and aluminum roofing sheets. Bring a valid ID. The Town won't take car parts and heavy metals at the curb.

Do I need to call 811 before pulling posts or footings?

If you're digging, yes. Submit a free location request with UDig NY online or by calling 811. State law gives member utilities two business days to respond.

What about gas, paint and chemicals stored in the shed?

The Highway Department doesn't take paint, motor oil, gasoline or antifreeze. The Town points residents to PaintCare drop-off sites for leftover paint and to Erie County's household hazardous waste program for the rest.

Will the crew take the shed down or just haul it?

Rapid Junk Removal and K & H say they tear sheds down and haul the debris, and both have West Seneca pages; K & H says it takes almost every shed apart by hand. Junk Job lists West Seneca in its service area and shed removal among its services but doesn't describe the teardown.
