SHED REMOVAL IN LEAGUE CITY

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your League City shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what League City requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your League City ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

02

Get our price.

We look at your photos and send our price, what it includes and the dates we have.

03

We haul it away.

We confirm a date, take the shed down, load every piece and leave the spot clean.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what League City asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

League City rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Yes. League City lists building demolition as work that needs a permit, and publishes no size exemption for tearing down a shed. The residential demolition permit is $250.

City pickup

No. AmeriWaste doesn't collect construction or demolition debris, and plywood, loose lumber, shingles and concrete are on its refused list. Residents get one monthly pickup-bed drop-off at its Hwy 6 facility.

Haul it yourself

Coastal Plains RDF (WM). Not published. Pays by cash, check, credit or debit card.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: Houston Junk Hauling publishes $400 to $800 for most sheds, LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559, and Fire Dawgs starts sheds at $500. Others price by truck load or quote.

Do I need a permit?League City demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

Building demolition needs a permit; the 200 sq ft line is for building

League City's list of work that needs a permit includes building demolition, with no size cutoff. The same list includes storage sheds larger than 200 square feet, but that line is about putting a shed up. Nothing the city publishes says a small shed can come down without a permit, so call the Building Department at 281-554-1429 before you book.

03

What the code expects of a cleared site

League City adopted the 2021 International Residential Code without changing its permit exemptions. Its unsafe-buildings article says demolition rules extend to the site: debris and lumber removed, holes filled to grade, pipes and conduits sealed below grade, and piers, steps and slabs removed. Ask the inspector whether that applies to a voluntary shed teardown before you leave a pad in place.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will League City pick up shed debris?

No. League City's trash contractor, AmeriWaste, doesn't pick up construction, remodeling, repair or demolition debris, and heavy trash excludes construction waste and anything two people can't lift onto the truck. The city says such debris belongs in a roll-off headed to a Type IV landfill; AmeriWaste's approved roll-off company is Hill Sand at 281-482-1213. A small amount bagged in a dumpster bag can go on a paid, scheduled AmeriWaste pickup; the fee isn't published.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

What else should I know in League City?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

A once-a-month drop-off for city trash customers

League City residents can take construction debris to the AmeriWaste facility at 3894 Hwy 6 once a month. Bring your driver's license and a paid-up water bill. The load can't be higher than a standard pickup bed, and trailers aren't allowed, so a whole shed usually takes more than one trip. Call AmeriWaste at 281-585-3200 to confirm and book a time.

Old-town sheds may need historic approval

In League City's Historic Overlay District, demolition that changes how a building looks from the street needs a Certificate of Appropriateness. The city's FAQ says a COA is required to demolish a contributing structure, not a non-contributing one, and the building permit is still required either way. Ask the Preservation Officer at 281-554-1080 which your shed is.

Shed chemicals don't go in the debris load

Old paint, pool chemicals and pesticides can't go out with heavy trash. AmeriWaste holds two household hazardous waste events a year at Hometown Heroes, and League City residents can book the Stella Roberts Recycling Center in Pearland at $1.50 a pound for paint and chemicals.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

What will it cost? How shed removal is priced, and what other local companies publish.

Shed Gone

Priced from your photos

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.

Other companies’ advertised prices

Three companies that serve League City publish a shed price. Houston Junk Hauling, based in League City, says most of its shed jobs cost $400 to $800, about $600 on average. LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for Galveston County and sets the price when you book. Fire Dawgs says shed removals start at $500. Texas Junkers prices by truck load, and College HUNKS quotes each job. None of these prices says it includes League City's $250 demolition permit.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few more answers.

Can I haul shed debris to a landfill myself?

Yes. League City lists three nearby landfills residents may use, with a possible fee: WM's Coastal Plains in Alvin, the Galveston County Landfill in Santa Fe, and the Dixie Farm Road landfill in Pearland. Coastal Plains lists construction and demolition debris and takes cash, checks and cards. Call ahead for rates.

Will the crew take the slab?

Houston Junk Hauling says it empties the shed, tears it down, loads the debris and cleans up, but doesn't say it breaks out slabs. League City's code lists slabs among what must be removed after a demolition, and AmeriWaste won't take concrete, so ask each crew about the pad before you book.

Who pulls the permit?

None of the listed companies says it pulls League City demolition permits. LoadUp's page says permit requirements can affect the price. Contractors on permitted work must be registered with the city, so settle who applies and who pays the $250 before work starts.

Do I need an asbestos survey for an old shed?

Texas DSHS says one private residence is not subject to the federal asbestos rules, and no notice is required. Old cement-board siding or roof panels still deserve care; ask the crew how they handle them.

What does a metal or resin shed change?

Mostly the labor. Houston Junk Hauling lists metal, vinyl-sided and wooden sheds among those it takes down, and Texas Junkers lists shed demolition among its outdoor jobs. Either way, the pieces are construction debris to AmeriWaste and stay out of curbside pickup.
