SHED REMOVAL IN THE WOODLANDS

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your The Woodlands shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what The Woodlands requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your The Woodlands ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

02

Get our price.

We look at your photos and send our price, what it includes and the dates we have.

03

We haul it away.

We confirm a date, take the shed down, load every piece and leave the spot clean.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what The Woodlands asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

The Woodlands rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Not confirmed. Montgomery County exempts demolishing structures under 500 sq ft outside the flood hazard area. Township covenants require an application for major demolition; ask whether your shed counts.

City pickup

No. The Township's free bulky pickup refuses construction and home improvement debris, including roofing, doors and windows. The Township points residents to a Bagster, a roll-off or a landfill.

Haul it yourself

Montgomery County Precinct 3 Recycling Center. Landfill items: $10 minimum; pickup truck load $30; trailer loads $50 (6 ft) to $200 (20 ft), stacked up to 4 feet.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559, and Fire Dawgs starts sheds at $500. Tex Mex prices by volume; the other crews quote on site.

Do I need a permit? The Woodlands demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

Montgomery County: the 500-square-foot demolition exemption

Montgomery County requires a Development Permit for all development in unincorporated areas, and says it is the owner's job to check the exemptions. Its exemption list includes demolition of structures under 500 square feet outside the Area of Special Flood Hazard. A shed inside the flood hazard area, or one 500 sq ft or larger, needs a check with the Permit Office at 936-539-7836.

02

Township covenants: when an application is needed

The covenants require prior written approval to place, build or alter any structure, and storage buildings are named. The standards require an application for major demolition projects, and define demolition as removing a building or other man-made structure. They don't say whether a garden shed is major. Call Covenant Administration at 281-210-3800 before the crew comes.

03

Township rules for the work itself

Demolition must finish within 10 days of starting unless the application asks for more time. Exterior work runs 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Trees in the work area need protective fencing, and removing a tree needs approval first.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will The Woodlands pick up shed debris?

No. Bulky pickup through the Township's Waste Management contract is free when scheduled two business days ahead (1-800-800-5804), but it refuses construction and home improvement debris such as concrete, bricks, roofing, doors, windows and drywall. It does take up to two bundles of fencing or decking boards, 6 feet long at most and five boards each; it doesn't say whether shed siding counts. Use a Bagster, a roll-off or a drop-off site for the rest.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

Montgomery County Precinct 3 Recycling Center

1122 Pruitt Road, Spring, TX 77380

County-run recycling and disposal center for Montgomery County residents only, with proof of residency. It takes home remodeling debris and fencing for a fee, and scrap metal. Bricks, concrete, asphalt, shingles and tile are taken only in small amounts, about a wheelbarrow load, in containers.

Fees: Landfill items: $10 minimum; pickup truck load $30; trailer loads $50 (6 ft) to $200 (20 ft), stacked up to 4 feet.

Before you go: Open Monday to Saturday 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Call 281-367-7283. Bring proof of Montgomery County residency.

Atascocita Recycling and Disposal Facility (WM)

3623 Wilson Road, Humble, TX 77396

WM landfill permitted to take municipal solid waste, with hours open to the public. Its page does not list accepted items for residents.

Fees: Not published.

Before you go: Open to the public Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.; closed Sunday. Call 281-446-6545, option 3, for rates and what it takes.

What else should I know in The Woodlands?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

Who decides: the county and the covenants, not a city

The Woodlands isn't an incorporated city, so it can't pass ordinances of its own. Building rules come from the county, which is Montgomery or Harris depending on your village. The Township enforces the deed restrictions (covenants) through its Residential Design Review Committees, and its standards say committee approval is not county approval.

Grogan's Forest sections 5, 6 and 7 apply in Shenandoah

Homes in Cantwell Forest, Avalon Oaks and Dulcimer Woods fall under both the Township and the City of Shenandoah. For those streets, the Township's chart sends building demolition and storage sheds to Shenandoah city hall, which forwards the application to the Township.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

What will it cost? How shed removal is priced, and what other local companies publish.

Shed Gone

Priced from your photos

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.

Other companies’ advertised prices

Two companies that serve The Woodlands publish a shed price. LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for Montgomery County and sets the price when you book. Fire Dawgs says shed removals start at $500. Tex Mex prices sheds by volume, and Snap, Speedy Recycle, Handymen and College HUNKS quote each job. None of these prices says it includes a Township application or county permit.

LoadUp ↗

$94–$1,559

Its national shed page says removal typically starts around $1,555; its local pages say an already-disassembled shed costs less.

Tex Mex Junk Removal ↗

$250–$485 small; $1,200+ large

The pricing page lists sheds at $250 to $485 for small and $1,200 and up for large. The shed page says pricing is volume-based and quoted from photos or an on-site estimate.

These are the other companies’ own advertised prices, checked October 8, 2026. They are not our prices and not a citywide average.

When you compare quotes, ask for one written total that covers dismantling, hauling, disposal fees and cleanup, and ask whether the contents, the floor and the slab or footings are included. What shed removal costs ↗

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few more answers.

What does the county drop-off charge?

The Precinct 3 Recycling Center charges $30 for a pickup truck load, $10 minimum, and $50 to $200 for trailers from 6 to 20 feet, stacked up to 4 feet. Bricks, concrete and shingles are taken only in wheelbarrow-size amounts. It's open Monday to Saturday, closed 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

I live on the Harris County side. Where does the debris go?

Precinct 3 won't take it without Montgomery County residency. The Township lists WM's Atascocita Landfill in Humble, open to the public weekdays 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and says Harris County runs its own sites for county residents. Atascocita doesn't publish rates; call 281-446-6545, option 3.

Who files the Township application, me or the crew?

A contractor can apply for you through the Township's Civic Access portal, but the owner must register an account first. None of the listed companies says it handles Township applications, so plan to start it yourself.

Is a small plastic shed different?

For putting one up, yes. Plastic yard storage sheds no more than six feet tall, without a foundation pad and screened from view, are pre-approved with no application. The standards don't say the same for taking one down, but a small resin shed is the least likely to count as major demolition.

Do I need an asbestos survey for an old shed?

Texas DSHS says one private residence is not subject to the federal asbestos rules, and no notice is required. Old cement-board siding or roof panels still deserve care; ask the crew how they handle them.

Who actually tears the shed down?

Fire Dawgs, Tex Mex, Snap, Speedy Recycle and Handymen all advertise shed teardown. LoadUp offers light disassembly as an add-on. College HUNKS lists storage sheds among items it hauls but doesn't describe teardown, so ask.
