SHED REMOVAL IN PHOENIX

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Phoenix shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Phoenix requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your Phoenix ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

02

Get our price.

We look at your photos and send our price, what it includes and the dates we have.

03

We haul it away.

We confirm a date, take the shed down, load every piece and leave the spot clean.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Phoenix asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Phoenix rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Yes. Phoenix requires a separate demolition permit for each building or structure, and its handout lists no size exemption. The 2026 fee for a single-family lot, including accessory buildings, is $98.

City pickup

No, not for a torn-down shed. Bulk trash refuses construction or demolition materials over 25 pounds or 4 feet long, plus roofing shingles and concrete.

Haul it yourself

27th Avenue Transfer Station (City of Phoenix). City of Phoenix residential trash customers: one load of up to one ton a month free with a city services bill and photo ID; over one ton, $55 a ton. Everyone else: $55 a ton, $40 minimum. Unsecured loads: $20 penalty. Deposits are cash only.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: Strong Junk Removal publishes $290 to $390 for a wood shed up to 8x10 and $400 to $540 for 10x12 or larger. LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559. Others quote by truck space or by job.

Do I need a permit?Phoenix demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

One permit per shed, then a final inspection

Demolition can't start until the permit is issued. If you are removing some but not all structures on a lot, only a site plan is needed. The permit expires if the work, including clearing all debris, isn't done within 60 days. Call AIRS at (602) 495-0800 for the final inspection; the demolition isn't complete until it passes.

03

Old siding and asbestos at the transfer station

City transfer stations take no friable asbestos. Non-friable asbestos material, such as some old cement siding, needs prior approval; call 602-262-6251 before you load it.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will Phoenix pick up shed debris?

Not as a whole shed. Bulk trash is by appointment only, four times a year, in one pile of up to 10 cubic yards. It refuses construction or demolition materials over 25 pounds or 4 feet long, metal over 20 pounds or 4 feet long, roofing shingles, concrete and more than two pallets. Setting a pile out more than 7 days early violates city ordinance. Book at 602-262-6251.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

What else should I know in Phoenix?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

Historic properties go through Historic Preservation first

If your lot has an HP or HP-L zoning overlay, the demolition request goes through the Historic Preservation Office, and you bring three sets of plans instead of two. Properties on the National Register or flagged HP-eligible add a $300 review fee and a 30-day wait.

Good lumber and shingles can go to reuse

The 27th Avenue Transfer Station has a drop-off area for reusable building materials, collected by the nonprofit Stardust Building Supplies. Its list includes lumber, siding, shingles, bricks and pavers, plus doors and windows. Ask the scale house attendant.

Deconstruction instead of demolition

The city's deconstruction brochure lists Habitat for Humanity of Central Arizona, Harvest Eco-Salvage and Stardust Building Supplies as crews that take apart structures so materials can be reused. It says donated materials may be tax deductible. Worth a call for a solid wood shed.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

What will it cost? How shed removal is priced, and what other local companies publish.

Shed Gone

Priced from your photos

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.

Other companies’ advertised prices

Two listed companies publish a shed price for Phoenix. Strong Junk Removal lists $290 to $390 for a wood shed up to 8x10 or a prefab metal shed, and $400 to $540 for 10x12 or larger. LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 and sets the price when you book. Junk Rescue and College HUNKS publish truck-space prices, not shed prices. The rest quote each job. None of these prices says it includes the city demolition permit.

LoadUp ↗

$94–$1,559

The shed page gives a $94 to $1,559 range. The price is set when you book online and is lower for a shed that's already taken apart. Its national shed page says removal typically starts around $1,555; its local pages say an already-disassembled shed costs less.

Strong Junk Removal ↗

$290–$540

Its light demolition page lists $290 to $390 for a wood shed up to 8x10 or a standard prefab metal shed, and $400 to $540 for a 10x12 or larger shed. Price varies with size, materials, access and complexity.

These are the other companies’ own advertised prices, checked October 8, 2026. They are not our prices and not a citywide average.

When you compare quotes, ask for one written total that covers dismantling, hauling, disposal fees and cleanup, and ask whether the contents, the floor and the slab or footings are included. What shed removal costs ↗

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few more answers.

How much does shed removal cost in Phoenix?

Shed Gone prices each shed from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included. Strong Junk Removal lists $290 to $390 for a small wood or metal shed and $400 to $540 for a large one. Junk Rescue prices by truck space, from $195 for a single item to $695 for a full load. Add the $98 city permit if your crew doesn't pull it, and ask who does.

Will the crew take the shed apart, or only haul it?

It depends on the company. Happy Hippo and Code 3 say they dismantle the shed and haul the pieces. LoadUp sells light disassembly as an add-on and asks for photos first. Strong Junk Removal says it tears down on site and sweeps up.

Can I haul the debris myself for free?

Often, yes. Phoenix trash customers can drop off one load of up to one ton each calendar month at no charge at either city transfer station. Bring your city services bill and a photo ID. Anything over a ton is $55 a ton, and an unsecured load costs $20.

Where can I take a metal shed?

SA Recycling's Bradley Ranch yard at 3210 S. 19th Ave. takes scrap metal from the public with no appointment. Its list includes aluminum siding, metal fencing and metal shelves; a metal shed isn't named, so call 602-252-3275 first.

What about the concrete slab?

Bulk trash won't take concrete. Salt River Landfill accepts residential clean fill at $60 a ton with a $30 minimum, but adds a special handling fee for large concrete. Ask any crew to put slab removal in writing.
