SHED REMOVAL IN SCOTTSDALE

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Scottsdale shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Scottsdale requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your Scottsdale ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

02

Get our price.

We look at your photos and send our price, what it includes and the dates we have.

We haul it away.

We confirm a date, take the shed down, load every piece and leave the spot clean.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Scottsdale asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Scottsdale rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Yes, per city code: a demolition permit ($379) is required before demolishing any building or structure. Scottsdale's under-200 sq ft no-permit rule is written for building a shed.

City pickup

No. Brush and bulk collection does not take construction and remodel debris or concrete. Residents can haul up to 2,000 pounds to the Salt River Landfill once a week at no charge.

Haul it yourself

Salt River Landfill. $60 a ton, $30 minimum per transaction; residential clean fill at the same rate. Special handling: $30 small bulk or $150 large bulk item fee plus weight. Untarped loads: $20. A deposit of 20% of gross vehicle weight is taken at entry; cards accepted.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: Strong Junk Removal lists $290 to $390 for a wood shed up to 8x10 and $400 to $540 for 10x12 or larger. LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559. Others quote by truck space.

Do I need a permit?Scottsdale demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

The demolition permit and what it asks for

Scottsdale amended its building code to require a demolition permit before demolishing any building or structure. The city's home improvement page also lists demolition among work that needs a permit, and work done without one is fined double the permit fee. The application needs a site plan showing the structure, its distance from property lines, utility lines to be removed, debris pile area and dust control, plus a letter from the owner. Apply through Planning and Development Services, 7447 E. Indian School Road, Suite 105, 480-312-2500.

02

Wet it down and clear it out

City code says exterior demolition must be kept wet enough to limit dust and all debris must be removed afterward. On asbestos, a single-family home with only one livable structure on the lot is exempt from Maricopa County's notification rules; the owner signs a statement on the city's demolition application.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will Scottsdale pick up shed debris?

No. Brush and bulk collection comes once a month, but the city lists construction and remodel debris and concrete among items it won't take, and residents are responsible for lumber and roofing from projects. Piles should stay within 10 feet long by 6 feet wide by 4 feet tall. Questions go to Solid Waste at 480-312-5600.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

What else should I know in Scottsdale?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

Native plants and NAOS can come into it

Scottsdale's demolition application asks for a Native Plant permit number when one applies, and the site plan must show any Natural Area Open Space (NAOS) and easements. In the Environmentally Sensitive Lands overlay, no building of any kind is allowed in dedicated NAOS. A Native Plant permit is $237 plus $37 and $1 for each plant affected.

Keep teardown debris out of the alley

Many Scottsdale homes back onto alleys that residents must maintain. During a construction project, debris has to stay inside your fence line, and it is illegal to put concrete, rocks or construction debris in the alley or in any city trash container.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

Shed Gone

Priced from your photos

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few more answers.

How much does shed removal cost in Scottsdale?

Shed Gone prices each shed from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included. Strong Junk Removal is the one listed local company that publishes shed prices: $290 to $390 for a wood shed up to 8x10 or a prefab metal shed, $400 to $540 for 10x12 and up. Junk Rescue charges by truck space, from $265 for a quarter load to $695 for a full one.

How does the free landfill trip work?

Bring the top of your current Scottsdale utility bill showing solid waste charges and a driver's license with the same name and address. The vehicle must be non-commercial, 3/4 ton or less, and the load 2,000 pounds or less. Over the limit, the landfill bills $60 a ton with a $35 minimum.

Can a non-resident or contractor dump at Salt River?

Yes, as a paying customer. The landfill says a utility bill isn't needed for a standard cash transaction, and it lists construction and demolition debris as accepted. Garbage is $60 a ton with a $30 minimum.

Will the crew take the concrete pad?

Don't assume it. Strong Junk Removal lists concrete among items it can't remove, and Happy Junk Removal won't haul dirt or rock. Salt River Landfill adds a special handling fee for large concrete.

Which crews have a Scottsdale base?

College HUNKS runs a Scottsdale office on East Redfield Road, and Happy Hippo markets shed removal in Scottsdale and greater Phoenix. Junk Rescue is based in Phoenix, and Code 3 in Chandler.
