SHED REMOVAL IN CLOVIS

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Clovis shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Clovis requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your Clovis ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

02

Get our price.

We look at your photos and send our price, what it includes and the dates we have.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Clovis asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Clovis rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Yes, as written. Clovis requires a permit to demolish or remove any building or structure; its 120-square-foot shed exemption is for building one. Call the Building Division, (559) 324-2390.

City pickup

No. The twice-yearly Community Clean-Up refuses construction debris of any kind, roofing and treated lumber, though it takes lumber cut to 4-foot lengths.

Haul it yourself

Cedar Avenue Recycling and Transfer Station (CARTS). Posted rates: general C&D $90 a ton; wood/brush $90 a ton; brick $65 a ton; clean concrete or asphalt free; clean metal free. Every load also pays a $16 environmental fee and a $10 fuel surcharge; hard-to-handle loads have a $160 minimum.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: Junk King Fresno says shed removal averages about $220, from about $100 to $650 by size. LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 in Fresno County. Others quote from photos.

Do I need a permit?Clovis demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

A demolition permit for the shed

The Building Division's FAQ says a permit is required to build, remodel, repair, demolish, remove or move any building or structure. It lists one-story tool and storage sheds of 120 square feet or less under work that needs no building permit; it doesn't say that covers demolition. No demolition fee is published on the Building pages reviewed. Permits and inspections run through the City's CSS online portal.

02

Rubbish and C&D belong to the City and its franchisees

Clovis Municipal Code 6.3.12 makes it unlawful for anyone but the City to collect, transport or dispose of garbage or rubbish in city limits, and 6.3.1.09 requires a franchise to collect C&D debris. Approved haulers are on the Building Division's list; new haulers can apply only March 1 to April 30 each year.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will Clovis pick up shed debris?

Not a shed teardown. Community Clean-Up is a free curbside pickup twice a year for single-family homes with City trash service, up to 6 cubic yards each time, sorted into greenwaste, metal and other debris piles. Lumber cut into 4-foot lengths goes in the greenwaste pile, but the flier's refused items include construction debris of any kind, roofing material, concrete, and railroad ties and treated lumber. Find your date on the City's Community Clean-Up map or call (559) 324-2604.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

Before you go: Open Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; closed Sunday. Call 559-600-6138. It's about 4 miles west of Highway 145, a long drive from most of the metro.

What else should I know in Clovis?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

Only franchised C&D haulers may collect demolition debris

Clovis's code says no one may provide collection of construction and demolition debris in the City without a City franchise, and the City alone may collect, transport or dispose of garbage or rubbish, which the code defines to include wood. The City's 2026 list names 16 approved C&D haulers. The code has no contractor exception like some cities. For a permitted project that needs a Waste Management Plan, the City lists two ways to comply: an approved C&D hauler, or self-haul with a plan that names who will transport the debris. The code doesn't say whether a removal company may haul debris from a shed it tears down. Ask the Solid Waste office's C&D Program Administrator, (559) 324-2604.

A waste plan only above $5,000

Clovis requires an approved Waste Management Plan for demolition projects projected to cost $5,000 or more, before any demolition starts. The code sets a 50% diversion goal, while the Building Division's 2025 handout says 65%. Hiring an approved C&D hauler replaces the plan and the final report. Most single-shed teardowns cost less than $5,000, so the plan likely won't apply.

Free drop-off for shed chemicals

Before the shed comes down, clear out old paint, motor oil and antifreeze. The Clovis Dropoff Center takes household paint (up to 20 gallons), motor oil, antifreeze, batteries and fluorescent tubes from residents free. It doesn't take pesticides or pool chemicals; call Fresno County Household Hazardous Waste, (559) 600-4259.

Asbestos release before a demolition permit

The San Joaquin Valley Air District requires a Demolition Permit Release form, signed by the District, for any demolition that needs a building department demolition permit. Its form covers a single residence and its outbuildings, and a single-family home may be exempt from the federal asbestos notice depending on use. Ask the Central Region office, 559-230-6000. Old shingles or siding may contain asbestos.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

Shed Gone

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.
