SHED REMOVAL IN LODI

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Lodi shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Lodi requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your Lodi ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

02

Get our price.

We look at your photos and send our price, what it includes and the dates we have.

03

We haul it away.

We confirm a date, take the shed down, load every piece and leave the spot clean.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Lodi asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Lodi rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Not confirmed for a small shed. Lodi charges $178 for a demolition permit, but no City page says whether a small shed needs one. Ask the Building Division, (209) 333-6714.

City pickup

No. WM's free spring Curbside Clean Up takes up to three 64-gallon carts' worth, bagged, bundled or boxed under 50 pounds, and regular carts take no construction materials.

Haul it yourself

Lodi Transfer Station (WM). Rate sheet effective Aug. 15, 2024 (prices subject to change): trash up to 4 cubic yards $23.17 a cubic yard, $107.76 a ton above that; wood waste with no other debris $23.42 a cubic yard up to 3 yards, $103.69 a ton above; concrete $112.48 a ton; minimum charge $37.58 per transaction.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for a shed in San Joaquin County. Servant King, the other company found that offers shed demolition in Lodi, quotes each shed from a photo or visit.

Do I need a permit?Lodi demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

What a Lodi demolition permit takes

The Building Division's demolition process (January 2026) starts at Community Development with six plot plans showing which building comes down and the Air District form if it applies. The permit is issued after PG&E and Air District clearance, and a pre-inspection confirms services are cut or capped before work starts. Plans must call for fill compacted to at least 90%. The fee table lists the demolition permit at $178.

02

Asbestos release before a demolition permit

The San Joaquin Valley Air District requires a Demolition Permit Release form for any demolition that needs a building department demolition permit, and the form covers a single home and its out-structures. Old siding or roofing may contain asbestos. Air District Northern Region: (209) 557-6400.

03

Hauled demolition debris goes through a recovery facility

Lodi's code requires permitted haulers, and self-haulers of construction and demolition debris, to send it through a state-licensed materials recovery facility, inside or outside the city. Ask the facility whether it counts before you haul.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will Lodi pick up shed debris?

Not a shed. The City lists no on-call bulky pickup. WM, which runs Lodi's service as Central Valley Waste Services, holds a free Curbside Clean Up once a year, usually in April: up to three 64-gallon carts' worth of extra refuse, bagged, bundled or boxed, under 50 pounds each. Dirt and concrete are refused. The service guide says carts take no construction materials and to call (209) 369-8274 for a dumpster for rocks, dirt and concrete.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

It lists construction/demolition waste and commercial and household waste as acceptable, and takes large wooden or metal beams, pressure-treated wood and creosote-coated wood at a special handling rate. Large loads of soil or gravel are refused. Its C&D Recycling Program sorts clean, separated loads of wood, metal and asphalt shingles from permitted projects in the county.

Fees: Price sheet effective Jan. 1, 2026: pickup with an 8-foot bed or trailer 8 feet or less, $32.50 at or below cab level and $44.50 above it; vehicles charged by weight $60.93 a ton (minimum $32.50); large bulky or hard-to-handle items, including pressure-treated wood, $123.97 a ton. Uncovered loads pay double or buy a tarp.

Before you go: Open Monday to Sunday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.; closed New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The 4 p.m. close is strictly enforced. Cards and business checks only, no cash. Call (209) 887-3868.

Sims Metal (Stockton yard)

1000 South Aurora Street, Stockton, CA 95206

Scrap metal yard that buys steel, iron, aluminum and other metals from the general public, and takes jobsite scrap and metal from demolition projects. Good for a metal shed's panels and frame once they are taken apart. It doesn't say it takes wood, roofing or mixed debris.

Fees: It pays for scrap; prices are not published.

What else should I know in Lodi?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

Only City-permitted haulers may haul demolition debris

Lodi's code counts debris from construction and demolition projects as industrial waste. Under Municipal Code 13.16.150 and 13.16.160, no one may collect or haul it without a City industrial hauler permit, and the City lists five permitted haulers: Waste Management, California Waste Recovery Systems, Precizion Recycling and Disposal, Lenzi Hauling and Republic Services' Delta Container. Section 13.16.190 lets the person or firm that generates the waste haul its own load with a free City permit, through a state-licensed materials recovery facility. Whether a removal company counts as the generator isn't stated. Ask Public Works, (209) 333-6706 or solidwaste@lodi.gov.

Dollar Dump Days each spring

Usually between March 15 and April 15, single-family customers inside city limits can bring up to two cubic yards of refuse in one load to WM's Lodi Transfer Station on E. Turner Road for a dollar, with the voucher WM mails out. Dirt, concrete, tires, hazardous materials and commercial waste are refused. Ask WM at (209) 369-8274 whether shed lumber counts.

Take shed chemicals to hazardous waste

WM holds a yearly household hazardous waste drop-off at the Lodi Transfer Station. Year-round, the County facility at 7850 S. R.A. Bridgeford Street in Stockton takes most items Thursday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., up to 15 gallons or 125 pounds per trip.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.
