SHED REMOVAL IN RIVERSIDE

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Riverside shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Riverside requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your Riverside ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

02

Get our price.

We look at your photos and send our price, what it includes and the dates we have.

03

We haul it away.

We confirm a date, take the shed down, load every piece and leave the spot clean.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Riverside asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Riverside rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Yes. Riverside requires a permit to demolish any structure. Its 120-square-foot shed exemption covers building one, and the city says demolition needs its own permit. Call (951) 826-5800.

City pickup

No. Riverside's free bulky pickup refuses construction and demolition materials, and it names scrap wood, lumber, metal and concrete.

Haul it yourself

Agua Mansa Transfer Station/MRF (Burrtec). Not published. Burrtec's facilities page lists no gate rates.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: 911 Junk California lists $400 to $800+ for shed demolition. LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 at booking. Junk Dawgs' general minimum is $147. The rest quote by job.

Do I need a permit?Riverside demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

A demolition permit, with a short clock

City permit rules say anyone who intends to demolish a building or structure must first apply and get the required permits. The exemption for one-story tool or storage sheds up to 120 square feet is for building them; the city's exemption bulletin says demolition and other nonexempt work need their own permit. The July 2026 fee sheet lists residential demolition at $62.50 in both the plan check and permit fee columns. A demolition permit expires if the work isn't finished within 90 days of issue.

02

Asbestos survey and AQMD notice before the permit

Riverside's Bulletin 121 says South Coast AQMD Rule 1403 paperwork must be done before the city issues a demolition permit. A certified asbestos consultant surveys the structure, the AQMD notice is due at least 10 working days before work starts, and you upload the city's Demolition Disclosure Form. The owner-occupant do-it-yourself exception covers renovations only, not demolitions.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will Riverside pick up shed debris?

Not as a teardown. Riverside's free bulky pickup is by appointment through (951) 826-5311, two appointments a year with five items each. Its list of refused items includes construction or demolition materials: scrap wood, metal, concrete, doors, lumber and drywall. Shed debris needs a hauler or a trip to a transfer station or landfill.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

Agua Mansa Transfer Station/MRF (Burrtec)

1830 Agua Mansa Road, Jurupa Valley, CA 92509

A Burrtec transfer station and materials recovery facility. Local recycling lists name it as an approved destination for C&D waste and say it takes clean dirt, concrete and asphalt. Burrtec's page doesn't list what the public may bring.

Fees: Not published. Burrtec's facilities page lists no gate rates.

Before you go: Open Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call (951) 786-0544 for rates and what it accepts before loading up.

Badlands Landfill (Riverside County)

31125 Ironwood Avenue, Moreno Valley, CA 92555

A county Class III landfill. The county accepts construction, demolition and renovation waste, including wood, metal and roofing, plus concrete and asphalt, as long as it has no asbestos or other hazardous parts. Large metal items go to a recycling area.

Fees: County gate fees effective July 1, 2026: routine refuse $52.68 a ton; hard-to-handle loads (all end-dump vehicles or loads needing special handling) $70.26 a ton. Flat rates: a car, SUV or pickup with up to an 8-foot bed is $15.70 routine or $21.10 hard-to-handle; a pickup and trailer up to 4 feet high is $43.20 or $57.10. Minimum routine load is $43.20. Uncovered loads pay a $25 surcharge.

Before you go: Open Monday to Saturday, 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; closed major holidays. Cover or tie down the load before you reach the scale, and wear a high-visibility vest. Loads are randomly inspected.

El Sobrante Landfill (privately owned, WM)

10910 Dawson Canyon Road, Corona, CA 92883

A privately owned landfill listed with the county's sites. County rules for Riverside County landfills accept construction, demolition and renovation waste, including wood, metal and roofing, plus concrete and asphalt, with no asbestos or hazardous waste.

Fees: The county's July 1, 2026 gate fee schedule applies here: routine refuse $52.68 a ton, hard-to-handle $70.26 a ton, or a $15.70 flat rate for a car or pickup load of routine refuse. Uncovered loads pay a $25 surcharge.

Before you go: Open Monday to Saturday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.; closed major holidays. There is no household hazardous waste drop-off at this site.

What else should I know in Riverside?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

Only City-contracted haulers may collect waste or drop off bins

Riverside's municipal code says no one other than the City's contracted solid waste haulers, City crews or a holder of a City self-hauler permit may collect solid waste in the city, and only the City or its contractors may provide temporary bins. The code's definition of solid waste includes demolition and construction wastes. A resident may haul waste from their own activity after getting a self-hauler permit from the Public Works Director. For building-permit projects, the City's C&D waste program (Bulletin 238) authorizes three ways to move project waste: self-haul, the franchise hauler for the area (it lists Athens Services) or the project's general contractor. Neither source says whether a removal company like Shed Gone, hired to tear down and haul away a shed, counts as the project's contractor or needs a City contract, so confirm before hauling.

Free drop-off day at Agua Mansa

On the third Saturday of each month, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Riverside residents can drop off up to one ton of trash, bulky items and recyclables at the Agua Mansa Transfer Station. Bring a current utility bill and cover the load. The city's list doesn't name construction debris, so call 311 before bringing shed panels.

Historic districts need a Certificate of Appropriateness

Riverside requires a Certificate of Appropriateness before anyone demolishes or removes any element in a historic district, contributing or not, or a designated or eligible cultural resource. The 30-day posted notice for demolitions is not required for accessory structures such as garages and gazebos.

Where clean concrete and reusable lumber can go

The city's construction recycler list names Geo-Engelauf on Market Street for asphalt and concrete, Burrtec at Agua Mansa for clean dirt, concrete and asphalt (weekdays 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.), and Habitat for Humanity on Iowa Avenue, which picks up reusable building and fencing materials. The city says these materials may not go in residential cans.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

Shed Gone

Priced from your photos

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.

Other companies’ advertised prices

One company publishes a shed price that covers Riverside: 911 Junk California lists $400 to $800 or more for shed demolition and removal. LoadUp shows a $94 to $1,559 range and sets the price at booking. Junk Dawgs publishes general junk-load pricing with a $147 minimum, not a shed price. JRR Junk N Haul, College HUNKS, Get It Gone and Corona Junk Removal quote each job. None of these prices says it includes the city demolition permit or an asbestos survey.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few more answers.

How much does shed removal cost in Riverside?

Shed Gone prices each shed from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included. Among other companies, 911 Junk California lists $400 to $800 or more and its cost guide adds $800 to $3,000 for a concrete slab. LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 and gives the price at booking.

Can I take the shed down myself?

Possibly. Riverside issues many permits to the property owner, so you can apply yourself. The asbestos survey still applies: the city's bulletin says the do-it-yourself exception in Rule 1403 covers renovations only, not demolitions.

Can I haul the debris myself?

Yes. Riverside's C&D program lists self-haul as an authorized way to move project waste in the city. County landfills accept construction and demolition waste, including wood, metal and roofing, as long as it has no asbestos. A pickup load of routine refuse is a $15.70 flat rate at Badlands or El Sobrante.

Does the city's C&D recycling form apply to a shed teardown?

Probably not on its own. Riverside's C&D waste plan follows CALGreen and covers new homes and residential additions or alterations that make a building bigger. A shed teardown isn't on that list; ask the permit counter if your project also adds space.

Who tears it down, and who only hauls?

911 Junk California, Junk Dawgs and Get It Gone describe dismantling sheds and hauling the debris. JRR Junk N Haul takes down sheds for an added cost, and Corona Junk Removal lists sheds under light demolition. LoadUp says light disassembly may be needed and jobs that need heavy machinery may be outside its scope.

What if the slab has to go too?

Concrete and asphalt are accepted at county landfills. For a cheaper recycling option, the city lists Geo-Engelauf and Burrtec's Agua Mansa site for concrete. Call first; neither publishes a self-haul rate.
