SHED REMOVAL IN CENTENNIAL

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Centennial shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Centennial requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your Centennial ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

02

Get our price.

We look at your photos and send our price, what it includes and the dates we have.

03

We haul it away.

We confirm a date, take the shed down, load every piece and leave the spot clean.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Centennial asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Centennial rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Yes, for sheds over 200 sq ft: Centennial requires a permit to demolish a structure. Its code exempts one-story sheds of 200 sq ft or less, but doesn't say that covers teardown; call 303-754-3321.

City pickup

No. Centennial has no city trash service; private haulers, sometimes picked by your HOA, set their own bulk rules. A dumpster on a residential street needs a city right-of-way permit.

Haul it yourself

Denver Arapahoe Disposal Site (DADS). No public self-haul rates are published on the pages reviewed. Appliances, tires and electronics are accepted for an extra charge.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: Published shed prices start at $799 (Junk Same Day) and $999 (JK Hauling & Demo); LoadUp lists $94 to $1,559. Others quote per job or by truck space.

Do I need a permit?Centennial demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

Demolition permit: required, with one open question

The Building Division says a permit is needed to demolish a building or structure, and points to IRC Section R105. Centennial adopted the 2021 IRC and removed only the deck item from its permit-exempt list, so one-story detached accessory structures of 200 sq ft or less stay exempt. The city doesn't say whether that exemption covers tearing one down. Its permit types include Residential Demolition and a Temporary or Accessory Structure type that names sheds.

02

The fire code has its own demolition permit

Centennial's fire code amendments say anyone who intends to demolish a building or structure must first apply to the fire code official for a permit. The code doesn't say whether a small shed is included, so ask when you call the Building Division.

03

Wiring, gas or water lines

Centennial requires a permit for any work on electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing systems. If the shed has a circuit, a light or a water line, have it disconnected safely under the right permit before the walls come down.

04

Call 811 before you dig out posts or a slab

Contact Colorado 811 and wait at least 3 full business days before pulling footings, piers or anchors. It marks public lines only; a private feed you ran to the shed won't be marked.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will Centennial pick up shed debris?

No. The city does not provide trash pickup; private companies do, and some HOAs contract with one hauler. WM says it can take bulk items for its customers, with options and pricing by area, but its sample list is furniture-type items, not lumber or demolition debris. Ask your hauler first, or plan on a removal company, a dumpster, or a self-haul trip.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

Denver Arapahoe Disposal Site (DADS)

3500 South Gun Club Road, Aurora, CO 80018

A regional WM landfill that lists construction and demolition debris, municipal solid waste and yard waste among acceptable materials. It cannot take hazardous or liquid waste. Whole sheds are not mentioned, so plan to bring a dismantled load and confirm.

Fees: No public self-haul rates are published on the pages reviewed. Appliances, tires and electronics are accepted for an extra charge.

Before you go: Call (720) 876-2620 before loading. WM lists Mon–Fri 6 a.m.–7:30 p.m. and Sat 7 a.m.–5 p.m., closed Sunday; another listing shows a later weekday close, so confirm. Check in with the attendant.

Oxford Recycling

2400 W. Oxford Ave., Englewood, CO 80110

Accepts concrete and asphalt for recycling. It can reject loads contaminated with dirt, trash, sod or other debris, so bring slab pieces only, not mixed shed debris.

Fees: Concrete or asphalt: $33 minimum load, $53 tandem, $78 semi. Concrete with excessive steel or rebar: $83 minimum. A $12 environmental fee is added to each load; prices may change.

Before you go: Open Monday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call 303-762-1160. Get a disposal receipt at the office before dumping.

All Recycling South Denver (scrap metal yard)

1775 W Wesley Ave, Englewood, CO 80110

A scrap metal yard that is open to the public. The company's list of household metals it buys includes metal sheds, metal doors and framing, and siding and gutters. Separate the metal from wood, resin and shingles before you go.

Fees: It buys scrap metal; prices are not published.

Before you go: Call (303) 922-7722 for current prices. Open to the public Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tower Landfill (Republic Services)

19260 E. 88th Ave, Commerce City, CO 80022

Accepts municipal solid waste, commercial waste and non-hazardous industrial waste from homes and businesses across the metro area. Its 2026 gate pricing lists demolition waste, shingles, and stumps or concrete over 3 feet across. It refuses refrigerators, tires, electronics, used oil, batteries and hazardous waste.

Fees: 2026 gate prices before fees: pickup filled to top of cab $105; filled over cab under 6 feet $120; over 6 feet or trailers $38.50 per yard (5-yard minimum); shingles $40 per yard (5+ yards); stump/concrete over 3 feet $72 per yard. Fuel, environmental and user fees are added.

Before you go: Call (303) 371-5115 for current rates. Open Monday 5 a.m. through Saturday 3 p.m., closed Sundays. Cover the load; uncovered loads are charged twice the price.

What else should I know in Centennial?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

The city runs its own Building Division

Permits come from Centennial's Building Division at the Civic Center, 13133 E. Arapahoe Rd. (303-754-3321, buildingdivision@centennialco.gov). Applications are online only. When plan review is needed it takes about 5 to 20 business days, and permits stay active for 180 days.

Dumpster in the street? Get a right-of-way permit

If a roll-off dumpster for the shed debris has to sit on a residential street, the city requires a right-of-way permit from Public Works first. A dumpster on your own driveway is not in the right-of-way.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

Shed Gone

Priced from your photos

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few more answers.

Is the concrete pad included in a shed removal quote?

Often not. Junk Same Day leaves the pad by default and breaks it out as an add-on. JK Hauling & Demo says its price depends on the foundation type. Mile High Haul-Off says it may refer concrete or paver bases to a specialist. Ask for one written price that names the floor, the base, the contents and cleanup.

Who should pull the permit?

The contractor doing the work. The city tells residents to hire licensed contractors who are willing to get a permit, to get everything in writing, and not to pay up front. Contractor licenses are applied for online with the city.

Where can I haul shed lumber and shingles myself?

The Denver Arapahoe Disposal Site on Gun Club Road in Aurora is the landfill Arapahoe County points residents to, and it lists construction and demolition debris; it publishes no public rate, so call (720) 876-2620. Tower Landfill in Commerce City is farther but publishes rates: $105 for a pickup filled to the top of the cab, plus fees. Cover every load.

What do I do with the concrete slab?

Keep it clean and take it to a recycler. Oxford Recycling in Englewood takes concrete for a $33 minimum load plus a $12 environmental fee, or $83 minimum if it has a lot of steel or rebar. It can reject loads mixed with dirt, trash or other debris, so keep wood and shingles out.

Where can a metal shed go?

To a scrap yard. All Recycling's South Denver yard in Englewood is open to the public on weekdays, and the company lists metal sheds, metal doors and framing, and siding and gutters among the household metals it buys. Prices are not published, so call (303) 922-7722.
