SHED REMOVAL IN APOPKA

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Apopka shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Apopka requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your Apopka ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

02

Get our price.

We look at your photos and send our price, what it includes and the dates we have.

03

We haul it away.

We confirm a date, take the shed down, load every piece and leave the spot clean.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Apopka asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Apopka rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Yes. Apopka requires a building permit to remove or demolish a structure. Fees are $7.50 per $1,000 of contracted cost, with a $75 minimum.

City pickup

No. City code says materials from construction or repairs of buildings won't be removed by the City; the contractor or owner must remove them.

Haul it yourself

Orange County Landfill. Construction and demolition debris $42.70 a ton; garbage $56.40 a ton; asbestos $185 a ton; $10 minimum (rates effective October 1, 2026). Uncovered loads are charged double.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for a shed in Orange County. G's Junk Removal says shed removal typically costs $450 to $2,000; Steps Rise quotes sheds after a look.

Do I need a permit?Apopka demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

What the City says about demolition permits

The City's permit types page says building permits 'are required to erect, enlarge, alter, remove, demolish, or repair a structure in the City of Apopka', from fences and garages up. No size exemption for small sheds is published, and the City has no demolition checklist online. Permits are $7.50 per $1,000 of contracted cost with a $75 minimum; the Building Official may ask for the signed contract to set the cost. Apply through the City's online permitting portal or call Building-Safety at 407-703-1713.

02

Wired sheds and digging

Apopka requires electrical permits for all electrical work, including 'fixed appliances and equipment connections'. The City doesn't say how to disconnect a shed circuit before demolition, so ask Building-Safety. Before pulling posts or piers, contact Sunshine 811.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will Apopka pick up shed debris?

No. Apopka Code Sec. 58-25(d) says materials from construction or repairs of buildings 'will not be removed by the city', and the contractor or owner must remove them. The City does collect large household items such as furniture on your yard waste day, free up to 4 cubic yards a week of bulky and yard waste combined and $17.16 for each extra cubic yard, and it can refuse an unusually bulky item. Shed contents like old furniture can go that way; the shed itself can't.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

Orange County Landfill

5901 Young Pine Road, Orlando, FL 32829

The County's only site for Class III construction and demolition debris: clean fill, asphalt, broken concrete, wood, furniture and other non-putrescible waste. It also takes household hazardous waste free from County residents, and asbestos by appointment.

Fees: Construction and demolition debris $42.70 a ton; garbage $56.40 a ton; asbestos $185 a ton; $10 minimum (rates effective October 1, 2026). Uncovered loads are charged double.

Before you go: Open to non-account customers Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Vehicles and trailers under 30 feet combined can use the small vehicle drop-off, unloading by hand. Cover the load. Call (407) 836-6601.

Porter Transfer Station (Orange County)

1326 Good Homes Road, Orlando, FL 32818

Takes Class I garbage, such as household junk cleared out of a shed, and household hazardous waste like old paint and pesticides. It does not take construction and demolition debris; the County lists that as accepted only at the landfill.

Fees: Garbage $56.40 a ton; $10 minimum (rates effective October 1, 2026).

Before you go: Open to non-account customers Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Take shed lumber, siding and concrete to the Orange County Landfill instead. Call (407) 836-6601.

CMC Recycling Orlando (Apopka)

3000 Gamson Rd., Apopka, FL 32703

Buys ferrous and nonferrous scrap metal from the public, including sheet aluminum and tin, so a dismantled metal shed can go here. It does not take hazardous waste, including asbestos.

Fees: No fee; it pays posted per-pound prices that change often.

Before you go: Open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sellers must be 18 or older with a valid driver's license or government ID. Call 407.293.6584.

What else should I know in Apopka?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

Only the City or its franchisees may haul refuse

Apopka Code Sec. 58-23 says all refuse in the city 'shall be collected, conveyed and disposed of by the city or its designated agents, licensees, franchisees or contract representatives', and no one else may haul refuse accumulated in the city except industrial-waste producers and haulers passing through from outside. Sec. 58-124 requires a City franchise only for roll-off container service. Separately, Sec. 58-25(d) makes construction and repair debris the contractor's or owner's job to remove. The code doesn't say whether a junk or demolition crew hauling a torn-down shed needs City authorization.

City permits, not Orange County's

Apopka is an incorporated city in Orange County, so shed teardowns go through the City's Building-Safety Department at 120 E. Main St., second floor (407-703-1713), not the County's Division of Building Safety. Its office is open weekdays 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Demolition debris goes to the County landfill in east Orange

Apopka has no City drop-off for construction debris. Orange County accepts construction and demolition debris, including wood and broken concrete, only at the Orange County Landfill on Young Pine Road. The Porter Transfer Station on Good Homes Road, the closer County site, takes garbage and hazardous waste but not C&D.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.
