SHED REMOVAL IN BONITA SPRINGS

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Bonita Springs shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Bonita Springs requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Bonita Springs asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Bonita Springs rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Yes. The City's demolition permit application lists sheds under residential structures. The flat permit fee is $125, or $300 with asbestos monitoring, before state surcharges.

City pickup

Not for a torn-down shed. Lee County curbside takes bulky items like fence sections, but its code counts building materials as bulky waste only from work that needs no permit. Ask Waste Management, 239-334-1224.

Haul it yourself

Southwest Waste Services (Mainline Parkway). $70 per ton with a 2-ton minimum, per the County's list.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: 239 Junk Removal starts shed removal at $200. LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 in Lee County, and Pure Disposal takes small metal sheds from $125. Others quote each shed.

Do I need a permit?Bonita Springs demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

What the City asks for with a demolition permit

For a shed or any other structure on residential property, the City wants three site plans showing the property dimensions and all structures, with the shed highlighted. It also needs a notarized letter from the owner giving the contractor permission, or a recorded Notice of Commencement signed by the owner if the job is worth more than $5,000.

02

What the permit costs

The fee schedule effective January 1, 2026 sets a flat $125 demolition fee, or $300 with asbestos monitoring. It notes that fees don't include state surcharges or solid waste, utility, impact or other state and county fees. The separate C&D diversion fee applies if you don't recycle enough of the debris.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will Bonita Springs pick up shed debris?

Not a whole shed, as far as County sources say. Bonita Springs gets Lee County curbside service, which collects bulky items such as couches, hot tubs and fence sections next to regular garbage, with a separate truck within three business days if an item won't fit. But Ordinance 11-27 defines bulky waste as including building materials only from household work that doesn't need a building permit, and the City requires a demolition permit for a shed. The County also says fencing and wood borders are not yard waste. Call Waste Management at 239-334-1224 before setting anything out.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

What else should I know in Bonita Springs?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

City permits, County trash service

Bonita Springs is an incorporated city, so its own Community Development Department issues demolition permits (9220 Bonita Beach Road, Suite 111; 239-444-6150). Trash service is different: the City is part of Lee County's solid waste system, in County Service Area 1, where Waste Management is the collector (239-334-1224).

Only a franchised hauler may collect solid waste

Lee County Ordinance 11-27 includes the City of Bonita Springs in Franchise Area 1, and Section 22 makes it unlawful to collect or transport solid waste, other than yard waste, without a Lee County Solid Waste Collection Franchise Agreement. The ordinance counts lumber, steel and asphalt from tearing down a structure as construction and demolition debris and exempts it from commercial franchise contracts, but Section 22 has no such exception. It doesn't say whether a removal company, or a homeowner hauling their own debris, is covered, and several of its sentences speak only of unincorporated Lee County. Lee County Solid Waste (239-533-8000) is the office to ask.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

Shed Gone

Priced from your photos

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few more answers.

How much does shed removal cost in Bonita Springs?

Shed Gone prices each shed from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included. Among other companies, 239 Junk Removal says shed removal starts at $200 and can reach $2,000 for a large, complex shed. LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for a shed in Lee County, lower if it's already taken apart. Pure Disposal charges $125 for a small metal shed and $100 more to dismantle a standing one. The others quote each job.

Where can I take shed debris myself?

The nearest options are private C&D yards on Lee County's approved list. Southwest Waste Services runs yards at 7940 Mainline Parkway in Fort Myers and 5801 Yahl Street in Naples, each $70 a ton with a 2-ton minimum on the County's list; call first. Castlegate Environmental on Alico Road doesn't publish a rate. The County's own Buckingham facility charges $70.25 a ton but is a long drive east.

Does recycling the debris save money?

It can. If a permitted teardown doesn't divert half its debris, the City charges a diversion fee, $300 for a demolition under $10,000. Loads taken to a County-approved C&D recycling facility earn a 50% diversion credit, so keep the weight tickets.

What about an asphalt-shingle roof?

Keep shingles out of a load bound for the County's Buckingham campus, which no longer accepts them. The County points to the Lee/Hendry Landfill in Felda or an approved private C&D yard instead.

Do I need an asbestos survey for an old shed?

Usually not under federal rules for homes: Florida DEP says the asbestos demolition rules exclude isolated residential buildings with four or fewer units. The City's demolition form still says all facility demolitions need notice to DEP's South District, and its fee rises to $300 with asbestos monitoring, so ask Community Development how this applies to your shed.
