SHED REMOVAL IN LEHIGH ACRES

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Lehigh Acres shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Lehigh Acres requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your Lehigh Acres ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Lehigh Acres asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Lehigh Acres rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Yes. Lee County requires a demolition permit to remove a residential structure, and its form lists detached accessory structures. Fees start at a $35 plan review and $50 per inspection, plus application and technology fees.

City pickup

Not for a torn-down shed. Lee County curbside takes bulky items like fence sections, but its code counts building materials as bulky waste only from work that needs no permit. Ask Waste Pro, 239-422-5660.

Haul it yourself

Lee County Resource Recovery Facility (Buckingham). Construction and demolition material $70.25 per ton, $15 minimum (FY26 County rates). Pay with exact change, a debit or credit card, or mobile pay.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: 239 Junk Removal starts shed removal at $200. LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 in Lee County, and Pure Disposal takes small metal sheds from $125. Others quote each shed.

Do I need a permit?Lehigh Acres demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

What Lee County asks for with a demolition permit

Lee County requires a building permit to demolish a building or structure. Its demolition guide lists detached accessory structures as a permit type and asks for a site plan with the shed highlighted, an asbestos acknowledgement, and an Owner-Builder Disclosure Statement if you do the work yourself. Owner-builders must sign for the permit in person at 1500 Monroe St., Fort Myers. A Notice of Commencement is needed only if the job is worth more than $5,000. The permit closes with a final demolition inspection.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will Lehigh Acres pick up shed debris?

Not a whole shed, as far as County sources say. Lee County curbside collects bulky items such as couches, hot tubs and fence sections next to regular garbage, and sends a separate truck within three business days if an item won't fit. But Ordinance 11-27 defines bulky waste as including building materials only from household work that doesn't need a building permit, and Lee County requires a permit to demolish a shed. The County also says fencing and wood borders are not yard waste. Call Waste Pro at 239-422-5660 before setting anything out.

What else should I know in Lehigh Acres?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

No city hall: Lee County makes the rules

Lehigh Acres is an unincorporated community, not a city. Lee County Building & Permitting Services issues demolition permits (239-533-8329), and Lee County Solid Waste runs trash service. Lehigh Acres is in County Service Area 4, where Waste Pro is the franchised collector (239-422-5660).

Only a franchised hauler may collect solid waste

Lee County Ordinance 11-27, Section 22, makes it unlawful to collect or transport solid waste, other than yard waste, without a Lee County Solid Waste Collection Franchise Agreement. The ordinance counts lumber, steel and asphalt from tearing down a structure as construction and demolition debris, and it exempts that debris from the rules on where it must be disposed of and from commercial franchise contracts. But Section 22 itself does not exempt it, and it doesn't say whether a removal company, or a homeowner hauling their own debris, is covered. Lee County Solid Waste (239-533-8000) is the office to ask.

The County's main drop-off is next door in Buckingham

Buckingham borders Lehigh Acres to the northwest, and the County's Resource Recovery Facility there has a construction and demolition recycling line that sorts out metal, plastic, wood and concrete. It no longer takes asphalt shingles; those go to the Lee/Hendry Landfill in Felda or an approved private C&D yard.

Recycling rule for permitted projects

Lee County's Ordinance 07-25 asks homeowners and contractors on permitted projects to recycle half of their debris or pay a diversion fee. Its minimum criteria include alterations over $10,000 in value, and pre-fabricated or kit buildings may ask for an exemption. The County doesn't say how this applies to a small shed teardown; delivering to an approved C&D recycling facility earns a 50% diversion credit.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few more answers.

How much does shed removal cost in Lehigh Acres?

Shed Gone prices each shed from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included. Among other companies, 239 Junk Removal says shed removal starts at $200 and can reach $2,000 for a large, complex shed. LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for a shed in Lee County, lower if it's already taken apart. Pure Disposal charges $125 for a small metal shed and $100 more to dismantle a standing one. The others quote each job.

Where can I take shed debris myself?

The closest County option is the Resource Recovery Facility at 10500 Buckingham Road, where construction and demolition debris costs $70.25 a ton with a $15 minimum on the FY26 rate sheet. Weigh in at the scale house and tarp the load. Private C&D yards on the County's approved list include Gator Rd. Recycle and Transfer ($82.50 a ton, one-ton minimum) and Southwest Waste Services on Rockfill Road ($70 a ton, 2-ton minimum); call them first.

What about an asphalt-shingle roof?

Keep shingles out of a Buckingham load. The County says the Buckingham campus no longer accepts asphalt shingles and points to the Lee/Hendry Landfill or an approved private C&D yard. The FY26 rate sheet lists shingles at the Lee/Hendry Landfill at $35 a ton with a $15 minimum.

Where can a concrete slab go?

DS&S Construction Materials at 2901 Jacksonville St. in Fort Myers is on Lee County's list as a clean concrete disposal site, with the rate set on site; call 239-454-4999, extension 200. The Buckingham C&D line also recovers concrete from mixed loads.

Do I need an asbestos survey for an old shed?

Usually not under federal rules for homes: Florida DEP says the asbestos demolition rules exclude isolated residential buildings with four or fewer units. Lee County's demolition application still has an asbestos acknowledgement, and asks for its Asbestos Affidavit if any part of the structure contains asbestos.
