SHED REMOVAL IN DAYTONA BEACH

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Daytona Beach shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Daytona Beach requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your Daytona Beach ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Daytona Beach asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Daytona Beach rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Not confirmed for small sheds. Daytona Beach's demolition permit costs $182.30 for single-family property and needs power and gas disconnect sign-offs. No shed exemption is published.

City pickup

Only small amounts. If you do the work yourself, debris can go out in bags or boxes of 40 pounds or less. A contractor's waste isn't collected without a fee.

Haul it yourself

Tomoka Landfill (Volusia County). Construction and demolition debris $41.09 a ton; garbage $41.09 a ton; asbestos $222.11 a ton. Non-commercial cars $4 and pickups or vans $8 flat; vehicles over 2.5 cubic yards are weighed. Out-of-county, mixed and unsecured loads pay double (rates effective October 1, 2026).

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: Volusia Junk and Debris Removal lists $170 to $550 for an 8x6 shed up to $1,000 to $3,300 for a 12x24. LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 in Volusia County.

Do I need a permit?Daytona Beach demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

What Daytona Beach asks for a demolition permit

The City's demolition permit package asks for a signed application with a notarized owner's affidavit, a Notice of Utilities Removal Declaration, proof that Florida Power & Light and TECO Peoples Gas were notified and disconnected, and a recorded Notice of Commencement. The gas section must be completed before the permit is issued. The 2025-2026 fee schedule lists $182.30 to demolish a building or structure on single-family property. Permits are good for 60 days. The package is written for buildings and no shed exemption is published, so call Permits and Licensing at 386-671-8140 first.

02

Water service, wiring and digging

The package says that when a demolition permit is requested, City staff remove the water service to the site and the sewer lateral is capped at the property line, with tap fees to reconnect. That is written for whole buildings; ask whether it applies to a shed. Contact Sunshine 811 before pulling posts, piers or anchors.

03

Contractors must haul their own debris

Sec. 78-7 says building contractors must collect, transport and dispose of all refuse from their work, concrete slabs and blocks included, or hire a service provider. A contractor that hauls its own debris must take it to an approved landfill and keep the disposal ticket for the City.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will Daytona Beach pick up shed debris?

Only small amounts. The City's FAQ says that for a self-worked small project, C&D materials may go out in disposable containers like heavy bags or boxes, each 40 pounds or less and movable by hand. If a paid party or contractor does the work, the waste must be hauled by them and the City won't remove it without a fee. Concrete and heavy construction materials can't go in toters. Call CODB Solid Waste at 386-671-8670 for bulky pickups.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

Tomoka Landfill (Volusia County)

1990 Tomoka Farms Road, Port Orange, FL 32128

What else should I know in Daytona Beach?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

Only the City's contractor or an authorized provider may haul debris

Daytona Beach Code Sec. 78-6 says all refuse in the city 'will be collected, conveyed, and processed or disposed of by the city, the city refuse contractor, or other service provider,' and the code's definition of refuse includes construction and demolition debris. There are two exceptions: owners may haul their own refuse to an approved landfill, and building contractors may haul debris from their own work under Sec. 78-7 if they keep the disposal ticket. Sec. 78-76 grants nonexclusive franchises to companies removing C&D debris with roll-off containers, and the City's refuse contractor holds all of them. The code doesn't say whether a removal crew that isn't a building contractor may haul a shed it tears down.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

Shed Gone

Priced from your photos

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.

Among other companies, Volusia Junk and Debris Removal lists average ranges of $170 to $550 for an 8x6 shed, $420 to $1,380 for 10x12, $560 to $1,840 for 10x16 and $1,000 to $3,300 for 12x24. Can I haul shed lumber to the landfill myself?

Yes. City code lets owners haul their own refuse to an approved landfill. The Tomoka Landfill at 1990 Tomoka Farms Road takes construction materials kept separate from other waste. Rates from October 1, 2026 are $41.09 a ton, or a flat $4 for a car and $8 for a pickup or van; bigger vehicles are weighed. Mixed or unsecured loads pay double. It's open Monday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

What about the concrete slab or pavers?

Drewry Site Development's yard at 925 S. Clyde Morris Blvd. crushes concrete, brick and asphalt into aggregate but doesn't post fees or say it takes homeowner loads; call 386-313-3220. GEL Recycling on Tomoka Landfill Road in Port Orange also recycles concrete and C&D materials; call 386-323-0553.

Can a metal shed go to a scrap yard?

Yes. Trademark Metals Recycling at 402 3rd Street in Holly Hill buys ferrous and nonferrous scrap, weekdays 7:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. and Saturday mornings.

What about old paint and chemicals in the shed?

Take them to the household hazardous waste center at the Tomoka Landfill. Volusia County takes paints, thinners, gasoline and pool chemicals there free.

Do I need an asbestos survey for an old shed?

Florida DEP says the federal asbestos demolition rules exclude isolated residential buildings with four or fewer units. Even so, Daytona Beach's demolition application warns that notice to DEP may be required before demolition even if no asbestos is present, so ask when you apply. Volusia County charges $222.11 a ton for asbestos.
