SHED REMOVAL IN DELTONA

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Deltona shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Deltona requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your Deltona ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Deltona asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Deltona rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Yes. Deltona requires a permit to demolish a building or structure. Residential demolition permits cost $0.15 per square foot, with a $50 minimum.

City pickup

Not for a whole shed. The City says construction debris isn't bulk waste; Waste Pro takes minor debris like fencing but quotes a fee for larger amounts.

Haul it yourself

West Volusia Transfer Station (Volusia County). Construction and demolition debris $41.09 a ton; garbage $41.09 a ton. Non-commercial cars $4 and pickups or vans $8 flat; vehicles over 2.5 cubic yards are weighed. Out-of-county, mixed and unsecured loads pay double (rates effective October 1, 2026).

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: Volusia Junk and Debris Removal lists $170 to $550 for an 8x6 shed up to $1,000 to $3,300 for a 12x24. LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 in Volusia County.

Do I need a permit?Deltona demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

What Deltona says about demolition permits

Building Services says a permit is required to 'construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish' a building or structure, and its permit list includes demolition and sheds. The fee is $0.15 per square foot of structure demolished, with a $50 residential minimum, so most small sheds would pay the minimum. The City's demolition checklist asks for a permit application, a written scope of work and a survey of the site, plus a Notice of Commencement for jobs of $5,000 or more; applications aren't accepted by email. The checklist is written for buildings, and no shed-specific exemption is published. Call Building Services at 386-878-8650 or 386-878-8660, or visit 2345 Providence Blvd., weekdays 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

02

Inspections, wiring and digging

After a demolition permit is issued, the checklist lists pre-demolition plumbing, electrical and gas inspections (electrical lines disconnected from the meter base), a pre-demolition check of silt fencing, and a final inspection that all debris is gone and the ground is re-sodded or seeded. Which of these a shed needs depends on its utilities, so ask when you apply. Removing an electrical system also takes a permit. Contact Sunshine 811 before pulling posts or piers.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will Deltona pick up shed debris?

Not a whole shed. The City says construction debris is not bulk waste and remodeling projects won't be picked up unless scheduled with Waste Pro (386-574-0723), with added fees. Regular bulk pickup on your garbage day takes up to four pieces a week of items like doors, shelving, furniture and fencing. Waste Pro's own page says minor demolition debris like fencing is included and that larger amounts, such as construction debris, need a price quote.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

Before you go: Open Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; closed Sunday. Sort wood and debris from yard waste and secure the load. Call 386-943-7889.

What else should I know in Deltona?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

Construction debris haulers need a City franchise

Deltona Code Sec. 50-21 lists 'construction and debris collectors' among services that need their own City franchise agreement, and says that for those services a franchise approved by the City Commission 'is required to legally operate within the city'. The first-year cost is a $500 application fee, $1,700 a year and 15 percent of monthly gross receipts. Sec. 50-23 separately asks building, roofing and demolition contractors who haul their own job waste to get a one-year transportation license, and Sec. 50-4 bars hauling solid waste on city streets without a license or authority. The code doesn't say which of these applies to a crew that tears down one shed and hauls it in its own truck.

Waste Pro and the City describe debris differently

The City's Solid Waste page says construction debris is not bulk waste and remodeling projects aren't picked up unless scheduled with Waste Pro, for a fee. Waste Pro's Deltona page says minor demolition debris such as fencing and floor tiles is included in collection, with a price quote for larger amounts. A whole shed is more than minor debris, so call Waste Pro at 386-574-0723 before setting any of it out.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.

Where can I take shed lumber and siding myself?

The West Volusia Transfer Station at 3151 E. New York Avenue, DeLand, takes construction debris sorted from other waste. Rates from October 1, 2026 are $41.09 a ton, or a flat $4 for a car and $8 for a pickup or van; bigger vehicles are weighed. It's open weekdays 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mixed or unsecured loads pay double.

What about the concrete slab or pavers?

GEL Recycling at 1200 S. Leavitt Ave. in Orange City takes clean concrete free and C&D debris for $42.50 a ton with a $50 minimum. It's open weekdays 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and also buys scrap metal, so an aluminum or steel shed can go there too.

What about old paint and chemicals in the shed?

Deltona sends residents to the household hazardous waste drop-off at the West Volusia Transfer Station in DeLand. Volusia County says residents can drop off paints, thinners, pool chemicals and similar items there free.

Do I need a permit for a new shed afterward?

Yes. Deltona's shed checklist says all sheds require a permit. Sheds can be up to 15 feet tall but no taller than the house, and lots of 20,000 square feet or less can have up to two sheds totaling 240 square feet. Sheds over 120 square feet need signed and sealed engineered drawings.

Do I need an asbestos survey for an old shed?

Usually not under federal rules for homes: Florida DEP says the asbestos demolition rules exclude isolated residential buildings with four or fewer units. If old cement siding or shingles do contain asbestos, Volusia County lists asbestos disposal at $222.11 a ton. GEL Recycling won't take anything containing asbestos.
