SHED REMOVAL IN SPRING HILL

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Spring Hill shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Spring Hill requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your Spring Hill ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

02

Get our price.

We look at your photos and send our price, what it includes and the dates we have.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Spring Hill asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Spring Hill rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Yes, as written. Hernando County requires a permit to demolish any structure and lists a $115 fee for structures other than the house. Its no-permit list covers putting up small sheds, not removing them.

City pickup

Not confirmed. Coastal Waste's bulk pickup (six a year, 10 items each) names furniture and appliances, not shed lumber or roofing. Call Coastal at (352) 540-6457 first.

Haul it yourself

Northwest Solid Waste Management Facility (Hernando County Main Landfill). Construction and demolition debris is 3.9 cents a pound ($78.47 a ton) since June 1, 2026; there is no free weight allowance. Recycling and small amounts of household hazardous waste are free.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for a shed in Hernando County. Junk It All starts general junk jobs at $75. Others quote each job.

Do I need a permit?Spring Hill demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

A permit is required to demolish a structure

Hernando County says anyone who wants to demolish a building or structure must apply for a permit first. Its August 2026 exemption list lets you place a storage shed of 120 sq. ft. or less without a permit, but that covers putting a shed up, not tearing one down. The demolition packet calls for two inspections: a rough inspection once electric, water and sewer are disconnected, and a final once the structure is down and the debris is gone. Permits last 60 days. A job of $5,000 or more also needs a recorded Notice of Commencement. Call 352-754-4050.

02

What the permit costs

The County fee schedule in effect since March 3, 2026 lists $115 for "Demolition, Other (Partial or Other than Main Structure)" and $165 for a main house. Every building permit also carries a $15 technology fee and a $13.84 unlicensed contractor surcharge. A $100 administrative review fee is paid when you apply and credited toward the permit.

03

The $7,500 exemption has limits

Since July 1, 2026, owners of single-family homes may skip a permit for work valued under $7,500 that includes no mechanical, electrical, plumbing, gas or structural work. It never applies in a flood zone, and you submit a written request with the contract first. The County doesn't say whether a shed teardown qualifies.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will Spring Hill pick up shed debris?

Not confirmed. Hernando County doesn't collect bulk items itself; Coastal Waste & Recycling does for its customers in unincorporated areas. Each customer gets six bulk pickups a year with up to 10 items each, scheduled by calling (352) 540-6457, and extra items cost more. The County's examples are furniture, mattresses, TVs and non-Freon appliances. Neither the County nor Coastal says whether shed lumber, siding or roofing counts, so ask Coastal before you set a torn-down shed at the curb.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

Northwest Solid Waste Management Facility (Hernando County Main Landfill)

What else should I know in Spring Hill?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

No city hall: Hernando County makes the rules

Spring Hill is an unincorporated community, so there is no city government. Hernando County's Building Division in Brooksville issues demolition permits (789 Providence Blvd., 352-754-4050). The County doesn't pick up trash itself: Coastal Waste & Recycling collects in all unincorporated areas, and the County runs the landfill and drop-off centers.

Only a County-licensed or franchised hauler may haul waste for pay, with exceptions

Hernando County Code Sec. 14-47(d) makes it unlawful to collect or transport solid waste for pay without a County residential franchise or commercial license. Coastal holds the exclusive residential curbside and bulk franchise. The code lets owners haul waste from their own property, and lets people licensed and engaged in demolition services or construction haul waste from their own work. It doesn't say which license counts, so it's unclear whether a removal crew without a contractor license may haul a torn-down shed for pay.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

Shed Gone

Priced from your photos

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few more answers.

How much does shed removal cost in Spring Hill?

Shed Gone prices each shed from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included. Among other companies, LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for a shed in Hernando County and says a shed that's already taken apart costs less. Junk It All says its general junk jobs start at $75.

Can I take a torn-down shed to the landfill myself?

Yes. The County's Main Landfill at 14450 Landfill Rd. in Brooksville lists sheds, roofing, wood and demolition debris among what it takes. Since June 1, 2026, there's no free 2,000-pound allowance: construction and demolition debris costs 3.9 cents a pound ($78.47 a ton). It's open Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for Hernando County waste only, and you must show proof of residency.

Can shed parts go to the West Hernando Convenience Center?

No. The center at 2525 Osowaw Blvd. refuses sheds, demolition and roofing debris, decking and fencing. It does take metal such as tin roofing free as recycling, and bulk household items for $15 a visit. Trailers must be under 5 feet wide and 10 feet long, and you get five trailer visits a year.

Where can a metal shed go?

All County drop-off sites take metal, including tin roofing and shelving, free as recycling if it's free of gas and oil. Keep it separate from trash. Search turned up no scrap yard near Spring Hill whose own website could be checked.

Do I need an asbestos survey for an old shed?

Usually not under federal rules for homes. Florida DEP says the asbestos demolition rules exclude isolated residential buildings with four or fewer units. The County's demolition packet still asks for an asbestos affidavit, and says owners may remove asbestos materials from a home they live in. For a very old shed with cement siding or shingles, call DEP's Southwest District at 813-470-5700.

Is the slab included when a shed comes down?

Not always, so ask. Site Masters lists concrete pads and pavers under the shed as part of its shed work. Junk It All's own write-up of a local teardown shows it left the slab because the owner wanted to keep it.
