SHED REMOVAL IN ST. PETERSBURG

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your St. Petersburg shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what St. Petersburg requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your St. Petersburg ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

02

Get our price.

We look at your photos and send our price, what it includes and the dates we have.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what St. Petersburg asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

St. Petersburg rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Yes. St. Petersburg's exempt-work list says demolishing any structure that supports a roof load needs a permit. The demolition base fee is $125.

City pickup

Yes, for a fee. Special Pickup hauls building materials at $25.65 per cubic yard, priced by an estimate. Two doors and two windows go free.

Haul it yourself

Pinellas County Solid Waste Disposal Complex. Cars $4.25 a load; pickups and vans $11.75 a load. Trailers, box trucks and modified pickups pay $63.57 per ton (from October 1, 2026), with a 35% card deposit for non-account customers. Special handling adds $110 a load; a $100 contractor surcharge applies to materials needing extra processing.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for a shed in Pinellas. Elephants charges $50 a cubic yard, $150 minimum. College HUNKS lists $99 to $699 junk loads.

Do I need a permit?St. Petersburg demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

Any roofed shed needs a demolition permit

The Building Department's List of Exempted Permits says anyone who intends to demolish a building or structure must get a permit, and lists as an exception to every exemption that demolishing any structure supporting a roof load requires one. The small-shed exemption covers only assembling or tying down portable sheds under 100 square feet. The newer under-$7,500 exemption doesn't apply to structural work.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will St. Petersburg pick up shed debris?

Yes, for a fee. The City's Special Pickup hauls building materials and other items outside its free list at $25.65 per cubic yard, and Sanitation gives an estimate based on the amount. Up to two doors and two windows go free. Request it in SeeClickFix with a photo, or call 727-893-7398, and set the pile where your trash is usually collected.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

Pinellas County Solid Waste Disposal Complex

3095 114th Ave. N., St. Petersburg, FL 33716

County waste-to-energy plant and Bridgeway Acres Landfill. The County says construction debris such as drywall, concrete and brick is landfilled whole because it won't burn. Treated lumber, asbestos and soil are special-handling wastes that need an appointment.

Fees: Cars $4.25 a load; pickups and vans $11.75 a load. Trailers, box trucks and modified pickups pay $63.57 per ton (from October 1, 2026), with a 35% card deposit for non-account customers. Special handling adds $110 a load; a $100 contractor surcharge applies to materials needing extra processing.

Before you go: Scalehouse open Monday to Friday 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wear the required protective gear. Call (727) 464-7500, and book ahead for treated lumber.

Central Pinellas Recycling (Waste Pro)

11880 34th St N, Clearwater, FL 33762

Concrete recycler that takes concrete, asphalt, pavers, roof tile and dirt from homeowners and contractors. Loads must be clean, with no wood or garbage; rebar is fine.

Fees: Free for clean loads; fees apply if materials aren't clean.

Before you go: Open Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; no need to call ahead during those hours and no minimum load. Call (727) 966-2599.

Trademark Metals Recycling (Pinellas Park)

9380 67th Street North, Pinellas Park, FL 33782

Scrap metal yard that buys ferrous scrap (steel, iron, pipe) and non-ferrous scrap (aluminum, copper, brass, stainless). Fits a cut-down metal shed, not wood or shingles.

Fees: No disposal fee published; it pays for scrap.

Before you go: Open Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. Bring ID; it's scanned at the gate. Call (727) 544-5810 for prices.

What else should I know in St. Petersburg?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

Haulers whose main business is debris need a City permit

St. Petersburg runs its own trash service and is the only one allowed to collect household garbage, but construction and demolition debris is excluded: the City may haul it, just not exclusively. Private collectors whose primary business is hauling C&D debris need a City private collector of waste permit ($350). The code exempts a business whose primary work isn't hauling, when it removes the debris from its own job on that property. The code doesn't say which side a shed removal company falls on. Violations carry a $500 fine.

Pressure-treated lumber needs an appointment at the County

Shed floors and skids are often pressure-treated. Pinellas County lists treated lumber as a special-handling waste that needs an appointment at the Solid Waste Disposal Complex, and adds a $110 per load fee on top of the disposal charge. Call (727) 464-7500 before you bring it.

City brush sites take metal panels and cement roof tiles

St. Pete's five brush sites take mixed metals, appliances and cement roofing tiles from properties that pay City sanitation, free, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every day. They don't take lumber. A hired crew can't drop a load unless the account holder comes along or sends the City's consent form.

Historic properties pay for a demolition review

The City's fee schedule includes a Certificate of Appropriateness for demolishing an accessory structure, at $500 for commission review. If your home is a local landmark or in a local historic district, ask the City's Historic Preservation staff before a shed comes down.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.
