SHED REMOVAL IN WALDORF

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Waldorf shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Waldorf requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your Waldorf ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

02

Get our price.

We look at your photos and send our price, what it includes and the dates we have.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Waldorf asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Waldorf rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Likely yes. Charles County lists demolitions among home projects that need a residential permit, with no size cutoff. Its 200-square-foot shed rule is for building one. Confirm at 301-645-0692.

City pickup

No. Charles County has no curbside trash or bulk pickup; you or your HOA hire a private hauler. Residents can drop their own load at the County landfill for a flat fee.

Haul it yourself

Charles County Landfill. Residents: car, van or SUV $5 a load; pickup truck $15 a load; vehicle with a trailer or hitch $118 a ton ($15 minimum); scrap metal free. Commercial vehicles: bulk waste $118 a ton; shingles and roofing $142 a ton ($15 minimum). Rates effective July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Do I need a permit?Waldorf demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

Demolitions are on the County's permit list

Charles County's list of home projects that need a residential permit includes demolitions, detached garages and sheds, barns and pole barns over 200 square feet, and it says a zoning permit is needed for a structure of any size. The size rule is about building, and the list doesn't give a size cutoff for demolition. The County says to call 301-645-0692 if you're unsure. Residential permit reviews take up to six business days each.

02

Wiring comes out under a licensed electrician

In Charles County, only a Maryland master electrician or a County restricted master electrician with insurance on file can pull an electrical permit and do electrical work. Homeowners can take a County exam for a one-year homeowner's electrical permit. A shed with power needs its circuit dealt with before the walls come down.

03

Maryland's asbestos rules reach hired crews

MDE says friable asbestos in single-family homes is regulated during renovation or demolition unless the homeowner does the work. Contractors removing regulated asbestos must notify MDE 10 working days ahead. The County landfill refuses asbestos. Old cement-board siding or roofing on a shed is the thing to ask about.

04

Call Miss Utility before pulling footings

Miss Utility is Maryland's one-call center. Contact it 3 to 12 business days before digging out piers, posts or a slab, or before demolition.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will Charles County pick up shed debris?

No. The County says curbside trash and bulky-item service is the property owner's job; residents contract with a hauler or use their HOA's service. The County's Saturday Bulk Item Drop Off at the Pisgah and Breeze Farm recycling centers takes furniture, mattresses, rugs and other large household items for a $15 prepaid slot, with no trailers or commercial vehicles, so it suits a shed's contents, not the shed. For the shed itself, a resident can take their own load to the County landfill.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

What else should I know in Waldorf?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

No franchise hauler, but the County landfill won't take a crew's demolition load

No Charles County page read gives any company the sole right to haul debris; residents hire their own trash hauler or use their HOA's. Commercial haulers must register and buy a $25 Landfill Usage Permit for each truck that uses the County landfill. The landfill's list of refused items includes commercial loads of demolition debris, and any vehicle with a business name, dump body, sideboards or a business card payment is billed as commercial. So a hired crew's shed debris will usually go to a private construction debris site instead.

Your own load is cheap at the County landfill

The Charles County Landfill on Billingsley Road in Waldorf charges residents a flat $5 for a car, van or SUV load and $15 for a pickup load, or $118 a ton with a trailer. Scrap metal is free, so a metal shed costs nothing to drop. All waste must come from Charles County, and you need proof of residency, like a driver's license or SMECO bill.

St. Charles and other PUD lots answer to a review board

For fences on land zoned PUD or St. Charles, the County requires an approval letter from the HOA or the Planning Design Review Board before zoning approval. The County doesn't say the same for removing a shed, but many St. Charles homes have HOA rules, so check before the shed comes down.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

Shed Gone

Priced from your photos

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few more answers.

How much does shed removal cost in Waldorf?

Shed Gone prices each shed from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included. Among other companies, Junk Guys DC lists shed demolition and removal at $200 to $400 flat, including foundation removal and site cleanup. LoadUp's Waldorf page gives $94 to $1,559, lower for a shed that's already taken apart.

What does the landfill charge for shingles and roofing?

The fee sheet gives residents only flat per-load rates and doesn't single out roofing for them. Commercial vehicles pay $142 a ton for shingles and roofing materials, against $118 a ton for other bulk waste, with a $15 minimum. These are the July 2026 to June 2027 rates.

Where does a hired crew take the debris?

Not to the County landfill, which refuses commercial loads of demolition debris. One option for contractors is Brandywine Sand and Gravel's Sheriff Road Transfer Station in Fairmount Heights, which takes construction and demolition debris, roofing and concrete on weekdays. Ask any crew where your shed will be dumped.

My property is a historic site. Does that change anything?

Yes. Charles County requires a Historic Area Work Permit before demolition that affects the exterior of a designated site or structure, or one in a designated district. The Historic Preservation Commission reviews it at a public meeting and has 45 days to decide, and work can't start until its approval is filed.

Is there guidance for old asbestos siding or roofing?

Yes. MDE's homeowner page links to its recommendations for removing transite siding and asbestos roofing, along with lists of licensed asbestos contractors and landfills that accept asbestos. Charles County's landfill isn't one of them; it refuses asbestos.
