SHED REMOVAL IN DUBLIN

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Dublin shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Dublin requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your Dublin ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

02

Get our price.

We look at your photos and send our price, what it includes and the dates we have.

03

We haul it away.

We confirm a date, take the shed down, load every piece and leave the spot clean.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Dublin asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Dublin rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Not confirmed for small sheds. Dublin charges $470 for a residential demolition permit and uses a Structure Removal form, but publishes no size rule for tear-downs. Call Building Standards, 614.410.4670.

City pickup

Partly. Rumpke takes boards cut to 3-foot lengths and tied in bundles as a scheduled bulk pickup, but not refuse from contractors hired by the homeowner.

Haul it yourself

Franklin County Sanitary Landfill (SWACO). Construction and demolition debris: $39.75 per ton in-district and $43.75 per ton out-of-district. Residents pay a $5 minimum, prorated for loads under a ton. Card payments carry a 3% processing fee.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 and Fire Dawgs starts at $500. Master Junkers, Hall Away and Dumpster Now quote each shed.

Do I need a permit?Dublin demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

03

Utilities and fuel tanks first

Dublin's Structure Removal form is a utility statement: the owner confirms electric, gas, water, sewer, cable and phone are disconnected, with work order numbers, or marks them not applicable. It also asks for a disposal plan for any propane, fuel oil or gasoline tanks.

04

Asbestos

The Structure Removal form says the owner must follow Ohio EPA's demolition and asbestos rules and may qualify for the NESHAP residential exemption. Ohio EPA says a residential building with four or fewer units is not a 'facility' under its asbestos emission rules unless it is part of a larger installation. The county landfill doesn't take asbestos.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will Dublin pick up shed debris?

Only if you tear it down yourself. Dublin's trash contractor, Rumpke, takes bulk material you schedule in the GoDublin app: cut boards, fencing and paneling to 3-foot lengths, pull every nail, staple and screw, and tie them in 18-inch bundles under 50 pounds. Concrete must be broken to golf-ball size in buckets. Rumpke won't pick up refuse made by contractors hired by homeowners.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

Franklin County Sanitary Landfill (SWACO)

3851 London Groveport Rd, Grove City, OH 43123

SWACO's public landfill. Residents may bring waste, and since September 29, 2025, construction and demolition debris must go directly here instead of SWACO's transfer stations. It does not accept asbestos, liquids, water-based paint that isn't dried out, tires or yard waste.

Fees: Construction and demolition debris: $39.75 per ton in-district and $43.75 per ton out-of-district. Residents pay a $5 minimum, prorated for loads under a ton. Card payments carry a 3% processing fee.

Before you go: Open Monday to Friday 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 6 a.m. to noon; hand-unloading customers must check in 30 minutes before closing. All loads must be fully tarped. Call 614-875-8563.

SA Recycling – Columbus (Parsons Ave)

2205 Parsons Ave, Columbus, OH 43207

Scrap metal yard that buys steel, aluminum, copper, tin and appliances from individuals and companies. Metal shed panels and framing fit these categories; call to confirm.

Fees: It pays for scrap; prices are not published.

Before you go: Open Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., closed weekends. Call 614-443-0518 for pricing.

SWACO Household Hazardous Waste Facility

645 E. 8th Ave, Columbus, OH 43201

Free drop-off for Franklin County residents' household hazardous waste, including oil-based paint, stains, thinners, old gasoline, pesticides, motor oil and propane tanks. It does not take asbestos, and latex paint is not part of the free program.

Fees: Free for residents. Latex paint disposal is charged by the operator, EEI (about $1.00 a gallon, per SWACO).

Before you go: Open Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the first Saturday of the month 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Not for businesses. Call 614-294-1300.

What else should I know in Dublin?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

No franchise hauler, but every contractor must register

Dublin's garbage chapter only bans scavenging; no hauler license or exclusive demolition-debris hauler was found. Residential trash runs under the City's contract with Rumpke. Separately, city code says all contractors must register with the Division of Building Standards before doing any work in the city. Registration is $75 a year and needs proof of $300,000 in liability insurance.

Historic Dublin demolitions go to the Architectural Review Board

In the Historic District, demolition needs approval from the Architectural Review Board under Zoning Code Section 153.176 and the Historic Design Guidelines. In May 2024 the board approved taking down a Landmark accessory building on N. Riverview Street. Ask Planning, 614.410.4600, before removing an old outbuilding there.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

Shed Gone

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.
