SHED REMOVAL IN EDMOND

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Edmond shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Edmond requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your Edmond ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

02

Get our price.

We look at your photos and send our price, what it includes and the dates we have.

03

We haul it away.

We confirm a date, take the shed down, load every piece and leave the spot clean.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Edmond asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Edmond rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Plan on one. Edmond requires a permit to demolish a structure, and the residential demolition permit is $125. The City's permit flyer lists one-story sheds up to 200 sq ft as no-permit work; ask first.

City pickup

Not confirmed for shed lumber. Paid bulk pickup ($10 a cubic yard for the first 2, then $5) refuses concrete, rocks and dirt but doesn't mention lumber. Call 405-359-4541 before setting it out.

Haul it yourself

Edmond Transfer Station. Published rates are the discounted resident rates (May 2022): $7 minimum, $15 for half a pickup load, $22 for a full pickup load, $28 for a single-axle trailer, and $52 per ton plus fees for larger trailers. Residents must show a current city solid waste bill and matching driver's license. Rates for others are not published.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: LoadUp lists $94 to $1,559 for a shed in Oklahoma County. The other local crews listed here quote each shed from photos or a visit.

Do I need a permit?Edmond demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

A permit to demolish a structure

Edmond's residential code (§16.06.120, R105.1) says anyone who intends to demolish a building or structure must first apply to the building official and get the permit. The fee schedule (§16.06.150) sets the residential demolition permit at $125, and work started without a permit costs three times the permit. Apply through the City's online portal; Building & Fire Code Services is at 22 E. Main St., 405-359-4780.

02

The 200-square-foot line on the permit flyer

The City's "Do I Need a Building Permit?" flyer puts one-story detached accessory structures up to 200 square feet, such as garages and sheds, in the no-permit column of the same row that requires permits to demolish. It doesn't say plainly whether a small shed can come down without the $125 permit. Call 405-359-4780 before you skip it.

03

Asbestos

Oklahoma DEQ says the federal asbestos rule does not apply to demolishing residential buildings with four or fewer units unless the project has a commercial or public purpose. Older cement-board siding still needs care in handling and disposal; ask the transfer station before bringing it.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will Edmond pick up shed debris?

Maybe, for a fee, but call first. Edmond's monthly bulk collection costs $10 per cubic yard for the first 2 cubic yards and $5 for each extra yard, added to your utility bill. It refuses rocks, concrete, tile and dirt, and limbs must be under 4 feet. The page doesn't mention lumber or shingles. Trash carts can't take construction debris such as bricks, concrete or tile.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

East Oak Landfill (WM)

3201 Mosley Rd, Oklahoma City, OK 73141

What else should I know in Edmond?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

Only the City may haul garbage

We found no franchise hauler for demolition debris in Edmond. But City code §13.04.010 says no garbage may be hauled from any place in Edmond except by the City Garbage Department, and §13.04.015 bars anyone else from emptying City trash carts. The chapter doesn't define garbage or say whether it covers shed debris a removal crew hauls in its own truck. Ask Solid Waste Services, 405-359-4541.

The transfer station is privately run but discounted for residents

The Edmond Transfer Station at 5300 Recycle Trail is privately owned and operated, with the City's Solid Waste Services as its main user. Edmond solid waste customers get lower rates for their primary home by bringing a current City solid waste bill and a driver's license with the same address. Rentals and businesses don't get the discount, and only cards are accepted.

Chemicals go to Oklahoma City's facility, billed to your utility account

Edmond residents can take paint, pesticides and other household chemicals to the Oklahoma City collection center at 1621 S. Portland Ave. with a license and a current Edmond utility statement. The fee starts at $39.50 for 7.5 gallons or less and appears on your utility bill.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

Shed Gone

Priced from your photos

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few more answers.

How much does shed removal cost in Edmond?

Shed Gone prices each shed from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included. Among other companies, LoadUp's Edmond page shows $94 to $1,559 for a shed in Oklahoma County, depending on size, condition and permits. Junk Platoon, Cowpoke Disposal, Trash Wrangler, Okie, Rios, On Call and College HUNKS publish no shed prices.

Where can I take shed debris myself?

The Edmond Transfer Station at 5300 Recycle Trail, just north of Covell Rd., charges Edmond residents $15 for half a pickup load, $22 for a full pickup load and $28 for a single-axle trailer. What about the concrete slab or blocks under the shed?

City bulk pickup and the transfer station both refuse concrete and rock. Trash Wrangler says it can break up and remove concrete slabs, blocks and anchoring hardware if you ask. The GFL Northeast Landfill in Spencer, listed by Oklahoma City for construction and demolition materials, doesn't post rates; call 405-424-8000.

What do I do with a metal shed?

The transfer station takes metal only in pieces 5 feet or shorter. Scrap Management Industries at 5200 SE 59th St. in Oklahoma City buys steel and aluminum from household recyclers, weekdays 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; call (405) 898-6464.

Will the crew take the shed down or just haul it?

Do I need to call 811 before pulling posts or footings?

If you're digging, yes. Notify OKIE811 before you dig out piers, posts or footings so buried lines can be marked. Locate requests are valid for 14 calendar days.
