SHED REMOVAL IN OKLAHOMA CITY

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Oklahoma City shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Oklahoma City requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your Oklahoma City ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

02

Get our price.

We look at your photos and send our price, what it includes and the dates we have.

03

We haul it away.

We confirm a date, take the shed down, load every piece and leave the spot clean.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Oklahoma City asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Oklahoma City rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Yes. The City requires a permit to demolish any accessory structure, with utility release signatures first. The fee for a one-story shed is $78 since July 1, 2026.

City pickup

No. Bulky pickup takes only small DIY repair waste. Demolition debris, roofing and concrete are left for the contractor or owner to haul off.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: LoadUp lists $94 to $1,559 for a shed in Oklahoma County. The other local crews listed here quote each shed from photos or a visit.

Do I need a permit?Oklahoma City demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

A demolition permit for every shed

Development Services says permits are required to demolish any primary or accessory structure, and its demolition form has a box for accessory buildings. City code puts the fee at $78 for the first story and $12 for each added story, plus a $0.50 state collection fee and a 2.7% card fee. No small-shed exemption for demolition is published. Apply at okc.gov/access or call 405-297-2525.

03

Asbestos

DEQ sign-off on the City form applies only to multifamily, commercial and industrial demolitions. Oklahoma DEQ says the federal asbestos rule does not apply to demolishing residential buildings with four or fewer units unless the project has a commercial or public purpose. Old cement-board siding can still contain asbestos, so handle it carefully.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

What else should I know in Oklahoma City?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

Hauling trash for hire needs a City-approved truck and decal

Oklahoma City has no franchise or exclusive hauler for demolition debris that we could find. But City code says no one may haul residential or commercial municipal solid waste on City streets for hire without following its trash hauling rules. Each truck must be inspected and approved by the Director of the Health Department and carry a City decal, and loads must be tied down or tarped. The code doesn't say whether shed teardown debris counts as municipal solid waste.

Historic districts need a Certificate of Approval first

In a Historic Preservation (HP) or Historic Landmark (HL) zone, demolitions need a Certificate of Approval from the Historic Preservation Commission or Planning staff. Districts include Heritage Hills, Mesta Park, Crown Heights, Edgemere Park, Jefferson Park, Paseo, Putnam Heights and Shepherd. Staff decide whether a job gets staff review ($100) or Commission review ($200). Call 405-297-3084.

Two free landfill days a year for City trash customers

OKC Utilities trash customers can dump for free at participating landfills twice a year; the 2026 dates were May 2 and September 12. Bring an original current City trash bill. DIY construction and demolition debris is taken only at the GFL landfill in Spencer on those days.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

Shed Gone

Priced from your photos

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.

Where can I take shed debris myself?

The GFL landfill at 2601 N. Midwest Blvd. in Spencer is the metro's listed site for DIY construction and demolition debris, but it posts no rates; call 405-424-8000. Norman's Transfer Station at 3901 S. Chautauqua Ave. takes demolition debris, lumber and shingles from non-residents for $92 a ton or $80 up to 600 pounds. Cut boards to 8 feet or less.

What do I do with a metal shed?

What about paint, gas and chemicals stored in the shed?

The City's Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center at 1621 S. Portland Ave. takes oil-based and latex paint, gasoline, pesticides and propane tanks free from Oklahoma City residents. Bring your City water bill. It's open Tuesday to Friday 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Do I need to call 811 before pulling posts or footings?

If you're digging, yes. Notify OKIE811 before you dig out piers, posts or footings so buried lines can be marked. Its site says locate requests are valid for 14 calendar days.
