SHED REMOVAL IN BETHEL PARK

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Bethel Park shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Bethel Park requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your Bethel Park ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Bethel Park asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Bethel Park rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Likely yes. Bethel Park's demolition permit application has an accessory-structure option, and the residential fee is $50. Ask Community Development (412-831-6800, x131) what a small shed needs.

City pickup

No. WM's monthly bulk pickup doesn't take construction debris, and the municipal code excludes lumber, shingles, siding and concrete from collection. Shed debris needs a hauler or a drop-off.

Haul it yourself

Michael Brothers Recycling (Baldwin). Not published for debris; call for pricing. Scrap metal is paid by weight at posted sample prices.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for a shed in Allegheny County. College HUNKS lists $99 to $699 for junk loads; Wolfgang Hauling and Junked Pittsburgh quote each job.

Do I need a permit?Bethel Park demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

Bethel Park's demolition permit

The Municipality's demolition permit application lists accessory structures alongside houses, and the fee is $50 for residential work ($100 commercial). Its procedure asks, where applicable, for a property survey, a demolition plan, the project specifications, a letter of approval from the Allegheny County Health Department and grading and backfill specs. All utilities must be disconnected before demolition starts, and the application asks for proof. Applications go to Community Development on the second floor of the Municipal Building, 5100 W. Library Ave., or to Permits@bethelpark.net.

02

Inspections and the state building code

Bethel Park enforces Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code itself. On a demolition permit, the permit holder schedules inspections for capping and sealing sanitary and storm lines before backfill, final grade and completion, with 24 hours' notice to the Department of Building Inspections (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). The application also asks for the contractor's registration number.

03

Asbestos rules come from the county

Allegheny County Health Department sets asbestos rules for the whole county. A home with four or fewer units isn't treated as a regulated facility unless it's part of a larger project, and private homeowners working on their own home are exempt. Any asbestos abatement must be done by an ACHD-licensed contractor. Questions go to ACHD at 412-578-8120.

04

Call 811 before pulling posts

If footings, posts or a slab come out with powered equipment, Pennsylvania's Act 287 requires notice to the utilities through 811 first. A contractor should show you its PA One Call serial number before digging.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will Bethel Park pick up shed debris?

No. WM collects up to two bulk items during the first full week of each month, but construction debris isn't a bulk item. Bethel Park's code also lists building materials such as lumber, shingles, roofing, siding and concrete block from repairs or construction among the things the Municipality won't collect. For other items, the Municipality points residents to Allegheny County's drop-off finder.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

What else should I know in Bethel Park?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

Haulers must be licensed by the county health department

Bethel Park's garbage code says every rubbish hauler, municipal or private, must use vehicles licensed by the Allegheny County Health Department and take municipal waste only to a landfill named in the county's solid waste plan. Collections can't start before 6 a.m. or run past 9 p.m. No exclusive hauler for demolition debris was found: WM holds the household trash contract, but the code's rules cover private haulers too.

Dumpster rules for a teardown

A roll-off bin must be covered by a tarp except while it's being filled or emptied, sit on a dust-free surface outside required yard areas, and be emptied at least weekly by a county-licensed hauler. The Building Official can temporarily waive the placement rules while a building permit is open, if you ask and the bin's spot is approved. It can't block sight lines, a fire lane or a hydrant.

A Bagster bag discount for small loads

The Municipality posts a WM coupon for 20% off one Bagster bag collection, good through Dec. 31, 2026 (code 150-BAG26). A Bagster bag holds up to 3,300 lbs of debris; you buy it at a home improvement store, fill it, and schedule WM to collect it. Collection isn't available everywhere, so check the address first.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

Shed Gone

Priced from your photos

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few more answers.

How much does shed removal cost in Bethel Park?

Shed Gone prices each shed from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included. Among other companies, LoadUp's Bethel Park page shows $94 to $1,559 for a shed in Allegheny County, and College HUNKS lists $99 to $699 for junk loads by truck space. Wolfgang Hauling and Demolition and Junked Pittsburgh quote after seeing the job.

Where can I take shed debris myself?

The closest public drop-off is Michael Brothers' recycling yard at 901 Horning Road in Baldwin, open weekdays 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday until 12:30 p.m. McKees Rocks Transfer Station in Stowe Township and Iron City Express in Crescent also take construction debris from residents. None posts a price, so call first.

Does the sewer line have to be capped?

Only if the shed had plumbing. Bethel Park's demolition procedure calls for an inspection of capped and sealed sanitary and storm water lines before backfill, booked 24 hours ahead.

Can I sell a metal shed for scrap?

Possibly. Michael Brothers buys scrap metal by weight at all four of its yards, including Baldwin, on state-certified scales, and posts sample prices online. Painted shed steel is usually a low grade, so expect a small payout.

What about paint, gas cans and chemicals in the shed?

They don't go out with trash or bulk pickup; the code excludes flammable liquids and toxic chemicals. Bethel Park sends residents to Allegheny County's Recycling Drop-Off Finder and Pennsylvania Resources Council events for hazardous waste.

Can the crew remove the concrete pad?

Ask for it. Wolfgang Hauling lists breaking out slabs, footings and blocks, and Junked Pittsburgh lists small concrete and paver pad removal. If the pad comes out, Bethel Park's demolition procedure includes a final grade inspection.
