SHED REMOVAL IN FRANKLIN

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Franklin shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Franklin requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Franklin asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Franklin rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Yes. Franklin requires a separate permit to demolish an accessory structure such as a shed. Its fee schedule lists demolitions as $50 simple permits plus a $10 technology fee. Call 615-794-7012.

City pickup

No. City Code makes the owner or contractor responsible for demolition waste and keeps it out of City carts. Bulky pickup is for furniture-type items.

Haul it yourself

Williamson County Landfill. Posted rates (labeled commercial, effective Feb. 1, 2022): construction and demolition $75 a ton, clean wood waste $40 a ton. The County says that since May 4, 2026 all loads pay regular tonnage fees. Cards carry a 2.5% fee ($1.95 minimum).

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for a shed in Williamson County. Dirty South, Rodeo and Wallaby quote each shed; College HUNKS prices by truck space.

Do I need a permit?Franklin demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

A shed teardown needs its own permit

Franklin's permitting procedures list demolition of a structure, including an accessory such as a shed or detached garage, among the jobs that need a separate permit. The fee schedule puts accessory buildings and demolitions under simple permits at $50 for each category that applies, plus a $10 technology fee per permit. Starting work without a permit stops the job and brings double fees.

02

Historic districts need approval first

Projects in Franklin's Historic Preservation Overlay must get a Certificate of Appropriateness before any other permit. The Historic Zoning Commission reviews partial or wholesale demolition of buildings, structures or historic site features, and the City encourages demolition applicants to attend a Design Review Committee meeting first. Contact Preservation staff before you plan the teardown.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will Franklin pick up shed debris?

No. City Code says removal of construction and demolition waste is the job of the contractor, developer or property owner, and bans it from City rollout carts. Rocks, bricks, concrete and sharp metal aren't allowed in carts or dumpsters either. Bulky pickup on Tuesdays covers beds, couches, chairs, desks and mattresses; play sets and fencing cost $125 as specialty items, and the City says all other outdoor items must go to a convenience center or landfill. Call (615) 794-1516.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

What else should I know in Franklin?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

Hired haulers need a permit or license to do business in Franklin

Franklin has no franchise hauler for demolition debris. City Code lets residents haul their own waste or hire a private collector, as long as that collector has a valid permit or license to do business within the city. The code puts removal of construction and demolition waste on the contractor, developer or property owner, and the City's FAQ says contractors must haul away their own debris and may not leave it at the curb.

County drop-off centers take a pickup load a day

Williamson County's convenience centers, including Southall on Mile End Road and Trinity on Wilson Pike, take residential construction and demolition waste free for county residents. The limit is about one level pickup load (3 cubic yards) a day from your primary residence, at one center. Rental property counts as commercial and must go to the landfill.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.
