SHED REMOVAL IN MURFREESBORO

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Murfreesboro shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Murfreesboro requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your Murfreesboro ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

02

Get our price.

We look at your photos and send our price, what it includes and the dates we have.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Murfreesboro asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Murfreesboro rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Yes. Murfreesboro requires a permit to demolish an accessory structure, storage buildings included. Its 2026 fee schedule lists $100 for a residential demolition plus a $500 refundable deposit. Call 615-893-3750.

City pickup

No. City Code bars scrap lumber, roofing and concrete from collection, and the owner must have demolition debris hauled privately. Bulky pickup is for furniture-type items.

Haul it yourself

Rutherford County Transfer Station. Cash customers: $50 flat for 1 to 999 lb, $104.50 flat for 1,000 to 1,999 lb, and $104.50 a ton (prorated) from 1 ton.

Others here: LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for a shed in Rutherford County. P's & Q's, Wallaby Land Works and Rodeo quote on site; College HUNKS prices by truck space.

Do I need a permit?Murfreesboro demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

A shed teardown needs a demolition permit

The City says a permit is required to demolish an accessory structure, including storage buildings, whether you do the work or hire it out. Resolution 26-R-10, in effect since June 1, 2026, sets $100 to demolish a one- or two-family residential building or structure, plus a $500 deposit refunded when the site passes final inspection, and a 3% technology fee on permits issued through the City's new software. Apply at City Hall, 111 W. Vine St., 2nd floor.

02

The form asks where the debris goes

The residential demolition request needs a site sketch marking which structures come down, plus a letter from the responsible party saying how the debris will be removed and where it will be disposed of. The form notes that TDEC's Division of Air Pollution Control may need to approve before the permit is issued. Email it to buildingpermits@murfreesborotn.gov.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will Murfreesboro pick up shed debris?

No. City Code says the City won't collect building debris such as scrap lumber, roofing and concrete, and building debris from demolition on private property must be moved privately. Construction waste can't go in the City trash cart either. Bulky pickup is for items like boxes and furniture: up to four items once every 30 days, at $10 an item for the first three and $30 after that, billed on your water bill. Call 615-893-3681 to schedule.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

What else should I know in Murfreesboro?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

The City collects first, but never demolition debris

Murfreesboro has no franchise hauler for demolition debris and no hauler license was found. City Code gives the City the right of first refusal to collect all refuse; where the City doesn't collect, the owner may hire a private hauler, and the code also allows contracting with a licensed waste collector. The City won't remove scrap lumber, roofing or concrete from a demolition, so the owner must have it moved privately. Hiring a private collector doesn't end the monthly City trash fee.

Watch for the Colonial Pipeline when pulling posts

The City's Building and Codes FAQ says to call 811 before you dig and never to dig with machines inside a marked tolerance zone. It adds that no digging at all is allowed within 15 feet of the right-of-way near the Colonial Pipeline unless a Colonial representative is on site.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

Shed Gone

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few more answers.

What does shed removal cost in Murfreesboro?

Shed Gone prices each shed from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included. Among other companies, LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for a shed in Rutherford County and says an already-dismantled shed costs less. P's & Q's Pickup prices junk in volume tiers from $99, and Wallaby Land Works and Rodeo give free on-site quotes.

Can I pull the permit myself?

For the building side, yes: the City's FAQ says a homeowner may get his or her own building permits. Electrical work is different. If the shed has power, a licensed electrical contractor must get the electrical permit.

Can I haul the debris myself?

Yes. The Rutherford County Transfer Station at 6025 Landfill Road welcomes residential customers and takes construction and demolition debris. Cash customers pay a flat $50 under 1,000 pounds. Bring a hard hat and high-visibility clothing, and leave out concrete slabs, asbestos and oversized pieces.

Where does a broken-up slab go?

Not the County Transfer Station, which refuses concrete slabs. Republic's Middle Point Landfill on East Jefferson Pike says it accepts construction and demolition materials, but it doesn't post public rates; call the scalehouse at (615) 648-8479. American Farms in Nashville takes concrete, brick and block.

Where can a metal shed go?
