SHED REMOVAL IN ARLINGTON

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Arlington shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Arlington requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your Arlington ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

02

Get our price.

We look at your photos and send our price, what it includes and the dates we have.

03

We haul it away.

We confirm a date, take the shed down, load every piece and leave the spot clean.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Arlington asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Arlington rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Yes, if the shed is over 100 sq ft. Arlington requires a permit to demolish a structure, exempting only one-story storage sheds of 100 sq ft or less. The fee is $200 per building.

City pickup

No. Weekly bulky pickup lists construction debris as a prohibited item, and trash carts refuse shingles and construction materials. The city points residents to its landfill instead.

Haul it yourself

Arlington Landfill (City of Arlington). Arlington homeowners get three free visits a year (vehicles and trailers up to 16 feet), then $21 a load under 8 feet or $41 a ton (one-ton minimum) for 8 feet or longer. $13 charge for an untarped load. Everyone else pays rates that vary by location, given by phone.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: Junk Master's shed minimum is $300. Green Source says $250 to $1,800 across Dallas-Fort Worth. LoadUp prices at booking; others price by truck space or quote the job.

Do I need a permit?Arlington demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

The 100-square-foot line

Section 4.02 of Arlington's Construction Chapter makes it unlawful to demolish any building or structure without a permit, and points to its exemption list. For one- and two-family homes, that list exempts one-story detached tool and storage sheds of 100 square feet or less. A common 8x12 shed (96 sq ft) falls under the line; a 10x12 (120 sq ft) does not. The exemption is written for the structure, not only for building it, but ask the Planner of the Day (817-459-6502, ext. 5) to confirm for your shed.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will Arlington pick up shed debris?

Not as construction debris. Weekly bulky pickup takes up to two cubic yards of household items, but its prohibited list includes construction debris, and the trash cart refuses shingles, concrete and construction materials. Fence panels are allowed if cut to 4 x 6 feet with nails and staples removed, but a shed is not named. For more than two cubic yards of allowed bulky items, Republic Services (817-317-2000) runs a paid special collection at $20.86 per cubic yard under 5 yards.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

Arlington Landfill (City of Arlington)

800 Mosier Valley Road, Euless, TX 76040

City-owned landfill run by Republic Services, with a paved convenience area for residents' loads of trash and cleanup debris. It accepts all non-hazardous residential and commercial solid waste, and old concrete for recycling free of charge. It refuses liquids, paint, chemicals and batteries.

Fees: Arlington homeowners get three free visits a year (vehicles and trailers up to 16 feet), then $21 a load under 8 feet or $41 a ton (one-ton minimum) for 8 feet or longer. $13 charge for an untarped load. Everyone else pays rates that vary by location, given by phone.

Before you go: Open Monday to Saturday 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; hand-unloaded loads must be on the scales by 4 p.m. on weekdays. Call (817) 354-2305 for rates. Cover the load; a safety vest and hard hat are required in the working area.

Environmental Collection Center (City of Fort Worth)

6400 Bridge Street, Fort Worth, TX

Household hazardous waste drop-off for paint, motor oil, pesticides and similar chemicals that landfills and curbside pickup refuse. It does not take building debris.

Fees: No charge for residents of the area cities that use it, with proof of residency; check with your city.

Before you go: Open Thursday and Friday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bring a bill or ID showing your address.

City of Fort Worth Southeast Landfill

6288 Salt Road, Fort Worth, TX

The city's landfill, which it names for solid waste the Drop-Off Stations won't take and for contractors' construction debris. It does not accept tires, barrels, auto parts, liquid waste, used oil or hazardous waste. Shingles and concrete aren't named either way, so confirm before loading.

Fees: Fees apply. The city mentions a minimum one-ton rate or a per-ton fee for larger loads but does not publish the amounts.

Before you go: Call 817-478-6462 for current rates and hours before you go.

What else should I know in Arlington?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

Older sheds can trigger a historic review

Arlington sends any demolition application to the Landmark Preservation Commission when the structure is 50 years or older, its age can't be determined, or it sits in a Landmark Preservation Overlay. Plan on up to 45 extra days and a separate $200 review fee. The commission can extend the hold but cannot deny the permit. Questions go to the Historic Preservation Officer at 817-459-6285.

Concrete goes to the landfill free

The city says the Arlington Landfill takes old concrete for recycling free of charge. That makes a broken-up shed slab the cheapest part of the job to get rid of if you can haul it yourself.

Shed chemicals go to Fort Worth, not the landfill

The Arlington Landfill turns away liquids, paint, chemicals and batteries. Arlington residents can take paint, oil and garden chemicals from a shed to Fort Worth's Environmental Collection Center at 6400 Bridge Street for free with proof of residency.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

Shed Gone

Priced from your photos

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few more answers.

What does a self-haul trip to the landfill cost?

Arlington homeowners get three free landfill visits a year in a car or trailer up to 16 feet, matched to their water account and Texas driver's license. After that, residents pay $21 a load in a pickup or trailer under 8 feet, or $41 a ton (one-ton minimum) for 8 feet or longer. An untarped load costs $13 more. Contractors pay standard rates.

Can my contractor use my free landfill visits?

No. The city says contractors, landlords and unauthorized users pay standard landfill rates, and the free visits aren't transferable. If you want to use them, you or an authorized user on the water account has to drive the load.

Do I need an asbestos survey for an old shed?

Texas DSHS says one private residence is not subject to the federal asbestos rules, and no notice is required. Arlington's demolition checklist asks for an asbestos survey only for commercial sites. Old cement-board siding or roof panels still deserve care; ask the crew how they handle them.

Who tears the shed down, and who takes the slab?

Junk Master says its teardown includes removing the foundation or slab if needed and handles sheds with wiring. Green Source asks you to mention a thick concrete pad when booking so it can bring breaking equipment. Junk Geeks breaks the shed down and loads every board. LoadUp connects you with independent haulers.

Does the company or the homeowner pull the permit?

None of the listed companies says it pulls Arlington demolition permits. Either a registered contractor or a homeowner with a homeowner registration can apply. Settle who files and who pays the $200 before you book.
