SHED REMOVAL IN FORT WORTH

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Fort Worth shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Fort Worth requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your Fort Worth ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

02

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Fort Worth asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Fort Worth rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Yes. Fort Worth requires a permit to remove a building, and its code lists no small-shed exemption. The wrecking permit fee is $88.59 for up to 1,000 sq ft.

City pickup

No. Monthly bulk pickup excludes shingles, wallboard and lumber. City-service households can instead take up to 5 cubic yards of small remodel waste to a Drop-Off Station once a month.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: Only LoadUp publishes a Fort Worth shed price: $94 to $1,559, set at booking. Mean Green prices by truck space, and the rest quote each job.

Do I need a permit?Fort Worth demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

No size exemption for tearing down a shed

Fort Worth's Administrative Code requires a permit to demolish a building or structure, and its list of work exempt from permits covers demolition only when the State of Texas removes a structure for highway widening. The city's permit page says the removal of a building from your property requires a permit. Ask Development Services (817-392-2222) about a very small kit shed.

02

What the wrecking permit takes

The application asks for a site plan or survey marking the structure, its exact square footage, and a signed wrecking indemnification form. Each structure needs its own permit, and the form has a line for accessory structures. A homeowner doesn't need a contractor registration number but must show proof of ownership. Demolition permits expire after 60 days.

04

Wiring and digging

Fort Worth says changing, moving or repairing electrical equipment requires an electrical permit; it doesn't say how removing a shed circuit is handled, so ask a licensed electrician. Before digging out posts or piers, Texas law requires an 811 request at least two business days ahead.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will Fort Worth pick up shed debris?

Not in monthly bulk collection. Fort Worth's bulk rules exclude contractor remodeling and demolition debris such as shingles, wallboard and lumber, and they exclude dirt, rocks and concrete. A pile with banned items is billed as non-compliant: $123.52 for the first 5 cubic yards and $107.40 per 5 cubic yards after that. The city points residents to its Drop-Off Stations instead.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

What else should I know in Fort Worth?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

Outside city limits, the county doesn't issue home building permits

Some Fort Worth mailing addresses are in unincorporated Tarrant County. The county says residential building permits are not required there, though floodplain and other permits can apply. If your address is inside the city, the wrecking permit rule applies.

Shed chemicals go to the Drop-Off Station tables

Paint, motor oil, weed killer, pool chemicals and fertilizer that pile up in sheds can go to the household hazardous waste tables at any Drop-Off Station, up to 20 gallons per household every three months. Propane and other gas tanks are not accepted there.

Putting up a new shed needs its own permit

If the old shed is being replaced, plan for a second permit. Fort Worth says all storage buildings require a building permit, with zoning limits on location, height and size.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

Shed Gone

Priced from your photos

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.

Other companies’ advertised prices

Only LoadUp publishes a shed price for Fort Worth: $94 to $1,559, set when you book online. Mean Green prices by truck space, and Hud's Haul Away, Junk North DFW, All Needz and Chunk the Junk quote each job. None of the shed pages says the price includes the city's wrecking permit.

LoadUp ↗

$94–$1,559

The shed page gives a $94 to $1,559 range. The real price is shown when you book online, and it's lower for a shed that's already taken apart. Its national shed page says removal typically starts around $1,555; its local pages say an already-disassembled shed costs less.

These are the other companies’ own advertised prices, checked October 8, 2026. They are not our prices and not a citywide average.

When you compare quotes, ask for one written total that covers dismantling, hauling, disposal fees and cleanup, and ask whether the contents, the floor and the slab or footings are included. What shed removal costs ↗

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few more answers.

Can I take the shed to a Drop-Off Station myself?

Partly. The stations take small home repair and remodel waste once a month, up to 5 cubic yards, from households with city sanitation service. Bring a water bill from the last six months and a matching driver's license. Trailers must be single-axle, no longer than 8 feet and loaded no higher than 3 feet. Roofing and concrete are refused, and an overloaded trailer is turned away whole.

Where do the shingles and slab pieces go?

To a landfill. The Drop-Off Stations send roofing, concrete and loose debris elsewhere, and the city names its Southeast Landfill on Salt Road, where fees apply. The city doesn't post the landfill's rate online; call 817-478-6462.

What about a metal shed?

Drop-Off Stations take scrap metal such as gutters, metal fencing and posts, and rebar. If posts are set in concrete, the city says to separate the concrete from the metal first.

Who tears the shed down, and who just hauls it?

Mean Green, Hud's Haul Away, Junk North DFW and All Needz advertise dismantling and haul-off. LoadUp says light disassembly may be needed. Chunk the Junk lists shed removal but doesn't describe the work, so ask.

Will the crew get the wrecking permit?

Ask before you book. Hud's Haul Away lists permits among the things it weighs when pricing demolition, but no Fort Worth shed page says the company files the permit. A homeowner can apply without a contractor number by showing proof of ownership.

Do I have to empty the shed first?

Not with every company. Mean Green says you don't need to empty it before scheduling and its crew helps with minor sorting, though heavy extra labor can cost more. Chemicals still need to go to a Drop-Off Station.
