SHED REMOVAL IN CANYON LAKE

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your Canyon Lake shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what Canyon Lake requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your Canyon Lake ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

02

Get our price.

We look at your photos and send our price, what it includes and the dates we have.

03

We haul it away.

We confirm a date, take the shed down, load every piece and leave the spot clean.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what Canyon Lake asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

Canyon Lake rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Likely no. Canyon Lake is unincorporated, and Comal County's permit list has no demolition or home building permit. Floodplain lots and HOA rules can differ; call 830-608-2090.

City pickup

No. There is no city trash service, and Comal County runs no curbside pickup we could find. Its recycling center refuses trash and lumber.

Haul it yourself

Mesquite Creek Landfill (WM). Rates are not published.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for shed removal in Comal County. College HUNKS shows general junk loads from $99 to $699. Others quote each job.

Do I need a permit?Canyon Lake demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

What Comal County permits cover

The County's list of permits for building in unincorporated areas covers septic systems (OSSF), floodplain development, driveways and other work in the county right-of-way, utility work in the right-of-way, and outdoor lighting in the Camp Bullis Dark Skies Zone. The Fire Marshal issues building permits only for commercial and public buildings and multifamily buildings with four or more units. Nothing on the list covers tearing down a shed at a home. Ask the Engineer's Office at 830-608-2090 if you're unsure.

02

Floodplain lots

Comal County requires a Floodplain Development Permit for new construction and improvements to substantially damaged structures in a special flood hazard area. Its pages don't say whether removing a shed counts. If your lot is near the lake, the Guadalupe River or a creek, ask the Engineer's Office first.

03

Digging and asbestos

Pulling posts or piers counts as digging: Texas law requires an 811 request at least two business days ahead, even in your own backyard. Texas DSHS says one private residence is not subject to the federal asbestos rules, and no notice is required. Old cement-board siding is still worth checking before it's broken up.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will anyone in Canyon Lake pick up shed debris?

Not the county. Canyon Lake has no city government, and Comal County's solid waste service we found is a drop-off recycling center, not curbside pickup. That center refuses trash and building materials or lumber of any kind. If you pay a private company for trash service, ask it whether it takes construction debris; we didn't find one that says so.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

Mesquite Creek Landfill (WM)

1700 Kohlenberg Road, New Braunfels, TX 78130

WM Type I municipal solid waste landfill. WM lists construction and demolition debris and municipal solid waste among acceptable materials; no hazardous waste.

Fees: Rates are not published.

Before you go: Open Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to noon; closed Sunday. Call (830) 625-7894 for rates.

Comal County Recycling & Chipping Center

281 Resource Drive, New Braunfels, TX 78132

County recycling center that takes metal of any kind and appliances, so a taken-apart metal shed fits. Its brush yard refuses building materials and lumber of any kind, and the center takes no trash, paint cans or glass.

Fees: No fee is listed for metal. Brush drop-off costs $15 for a pickup and $30 for a trailer 14 feet or shorter.

Before you go: Open Monday to Friday 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 7 a.m. to noon. Call 830-643-3781.

Beck Landfill

550 Farm-To-Market Rd 78, Schertz, TX 78154

Locally owned Type IV landfill for construction and demolition waste: lumber, metal, drywall, roofing and other building debris, plus concrete, brick and gravel. Takes separated wood and scrap metal for recycling. No household trash or asbestos.

Fees: $130 minimum for loads under 4,482 lbs.; $58 a ton above that; $17.50 environmental fee per load; fuel surcharge. Shingle-heavy loads (30% or more): $300 minimum under 4,000 lbs., then $150 a ton. Untarped loads: $25. Cash or credit card, no checks.

Before you go: Open Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 7 a.m. to noon. Tarp or strap the load. Call 210-658-6321.

What else should I know in Canyon Lake?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

Who decides: Comal County, not a city

Canyon Lake is an unincorporated area of northern Comal County, so there is no city hall, city permit office or city trash service. County permits in unincorporated areas come from the Comal County Engineer's Office, which notes that property owners associations, utilities and the state may have their own requirements. If your subdivision has deed restrictions, check them before a teardown.

No franchised hauler rule found

Because Canyon Lake has no city government, there is no city hauling franchise. We found no Comal County order that gives any company exclusive rights to haul trash or demolition debris in unincorporated areas, so removal crews and roll-off companies appear to work here on the open market. That isn't stated on a county page; the Comal County Engineer's Office can confirm at 830-608-2090.

The Startzville drop-off closed; the county site is in New Braunfels

Comal County closed its Startzville recycling site in January 2023 to make room for a fire station, and the County's recycling page now lists only the center at 281 Resource Dr. in New Braunfels. Since January 2026 that center takes metal, appliances, cardboard, tires and brush, but no lumber or building materials.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.
