SHED REMOVAL IN NEW BRAUNFELS

We take it down.
We haul it away.

How it works ↗

Shed removal is all we do. Wood, metal or resin, falling apart or still standing, we take your New Braunfels shed apart and leave the space clean.

  • Taking the shed apart: roof, walls, doors and floor
  • The stuff inside, if you want it gone too
  • Loading, haul-away and disposal, with metal and clean wood recycled where it’s accepted
  • The slab, gravel pad or footings, if you want them out
  • Sweeping and raking the spot clean

We check what New Braunfels requires for your shed before any work starts, and any power to the shed must be disconnected by a licensed electrician before removal day. The local rules are below.

01

Send a photo.

Show us the shed and the way out, and add your New Braunfels ZIP code. No payment, and it isn’t a booking.

02

Get our price.

We look at your photos and send our price, what it includes and the dates we have.

We haul it away.

We confirm a date, take the shed down, load every piece and leave the spot clean.

PERMITS & DIY DISPOSAL

Doing it yourself, or just checking the rules?

Here’s what New Braunfels asks for before a shed comes down, what city pickup will take, and where you can drop off the debris yourself.

New Braunfels rules at a glance

Demolition permit

Likely yes. City code bars demolishing any structure without the needed permit, and a residential demolition permit is $100. The 200 sq ft shed exemption is written for building, not teardown; call 830-221-4041.

City pickup

No. City code says construction and demolition material, including roofing, won't be collected, and the quarterly bulky drop-off refuses it too. The owner or contractor must remove it.

Haul it yourself

Mesquite Creek Landfill (WM). Rates are not published.

What it costs

Shed Gone: a price from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included.

Others here: LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for shed removal in Comal County. College HUNKS shows general junk loads from $99 to $699. Others quote each job.

Do I need a permit?New Braunfels demolition rules, utilities and property checks.

The requirements depend on the structure, the work and the property’s jurisdiction. These are the official starting points for checking your job. Confirm with the building office before teardown day. How shed demolition permits work ↗

01

The demolition permit and the 200-square-foot question

City Code Section 14-5 says no building or structure may be removed or demolished without first getting any necessary permit, and Demolition is one of the City's residential permit types. The local building code amendments exempt building a one-story detached accessory structure up to 200 square feet, unless the lot has a FEMA flood hazard area, but they don't say that exemption covers tearing one down. The fee schedule lists the residential demolition fee at $100. Ask Development Services at (830) 221-4041, option 1.

02

Doing the paperwork yourself

A homeowner can act as their own contractor only on a home they live in and claim as a Texas homestead, after signing a notarized affidavit with the Building Safety Division; approval takes 3 to 5 business days. Complete demolition of a building over 200 square feet still needs a registered contractor.

03

Wiring and digging

New Braunfels requires a permit to remove or alter any electrical, gas or plumbing system, so a shed circuit needs a permit to take out. Pulling posts or piers counts as digging: Texas law requires an 811 request at least two business days ahead.

Can I dispose of it myself?City pickup rules, drop-off options and fees for shed debris.

Will New Braunfels pick up shed debris?

No. City Code Chapter 110 says construction waste and demolition material, including bricks, concrete and roofing, will not be collected by the City and must be removed at the owner's or contractor's expense. The free quarterly Bulky Garbage Drop Off refuses construction, demolition and remodeling materials and scrap metal, and the $43.30 curbside bulky pickup is for items like furniture, not building debris.

Drop-off and recycling options

If you’d rather haul it yourself, sort the load first: clean wood, metal, roofing, concrete and household contents often go to different places or cost different amounts. Call ahead before hiring a trailer. What can be recycled ↗

What else should I know in New Braunfels?Local notes, and the photos that set the price.

Only city-approved haulers may haul waste for pay

City code makes the Solid Waste and Recycling Division the exclusive provider of residential and commercial refuse collection, and says no one may collect refuse for pay in the city without an approved service agreement. Every for-hire hauling vehicle also needs a city permit decal, and the code names demolition and construction companies hauling their own waste. The 2024 permit form lists $2,000 a year per vehicle of 7,000 lbs. or more and $150 for lighter ones. The code doesn't say whether a crew hauling one homeowner's shed needs a service agreement or only the decal; call Solid Waste at (830) 221-4040.

City dumpster rentals are on hold

New Braunfels has suspended its own dumpster rental program, so roll-off dumpsters come only from private haulers with city permits. The City posts the permitted list; Ricky's Trash Haul Off is on it for junk removal.

Every demolition permit gets a historic check

Under City Code Section 66-60, applications to demolish any structure outside a historic district or landmark go to the city historic preservation officer, who has 30 days to decide whether it could qualify as a landmark. If it doesn't, the permit can be issued right away. In Gruene or another historic district, the stricter landmark process applies.

Sheds over 200 square feet need a registered contractor

A homeowner with an approved homestead exemption can pull some permits without registering as a contractor, including accessory building work under 200 square feet. The City's bulletin lists complete demolition of a building larger than 200 square feet among jobs that need a registered contractor.

Photos that explain the job.

  • The whole shed, with the roof, doors and rough dimensions
  • What it sits on: slab, gravel, pavers, skids or blocks
  • The route out: gates, steps, slopes and the narrowest gap
  • Anything stored inside, and any wiring, lights or a water line

Tell us whether the shed has power. A licensed electrician should disconnect and make the circuit safe before teardown. Say which items stay, and whether the slab or footings go too.

Shed Gone

Priced from your photos

A small empty resin shed and a large timber shed on a concrete slab are different jobs, so we don’t publish one number. The price depends on the shed’s size and material, what’s inside, what it sits on, and the route from the shed to the truck.

Other companies’ advertised prices

LoadUp is the only company here that publishes a shed price: $94 to $1,559 in Comal County, set when you book. College HUNKS shows general junk loads from $99 to $699, which is not a shed price. Ricky's Trash Haul Off, Controlled Chaos and JT Land Solutions quote each job. None of these prices says it includes a New Braunfels demolition permit.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few more answers.

How much does shed removal cost in New Braunfels?

Shed Gone prices each shed from your photos, with teardown, haul-away and cleanup included. Of the other companies listed, LoadUp shows $94 to $1,559 for Comal County and sets the price when you book; it says an already taken-apart shed costs less. College HUNKS shows junk loads from $99 to $699, which is not a shed price.

Can I take the debris to Mesquite Creek Landfill myself?

WM lists construction and demolition debris among the materials Mesquite Creek accepts, but it posts no rates; call (830) 625-7894. Beck Landfill in Schertz is a construction and demolition landfill with posted prices: a $130 minimum for loads under 4,482 lbs., $58 a ton above that, plus a $17.50 environmental fee per load.

Where can a metal shed go?

City residents can bring scrap metal to the City Recycle Center at 488 S. Castell Ave. with an ID or utility bill showing a New Braunfels address. The Comal County Recycling Center at 281 Resource Dr. takes metal of any kind. Neither takes wood or lumber.

Can the wood go to the county brush yard?

No. Comal County's brush drop-off takes branches and limbs but refuses building materials and lumber of any kind. Lumber has to go to a landfill such as Mesquite Creek or Beck.

What happens to the concrete pad?

The City won't collect concrete. Ricky's Trash Haul Off lists concrete removal, and JT Land Solutions says breaking out old slabs is one of its most common jobs. Beck Landfill takes concrete and brick as inert material at its regular rates.

Who tears the shed down, and who just hauls it?

Ricky's Trash Haul Off, Controlled Chaos and JT Land Solutions say they take sheds down. LoadUp says light disassembly may be needed. College HUNKS lists storage sheds among items it hauls but doesn't describe teardown, so ask.
